8-0 looks like a fairly one sided affair. But I just wanted to comment that this was a very valiant effort by the non-traditional hockey country.

The first couple periods were very watchable, and the Norwegians had a lot of jump. They often looked like kids against men out there (in sheer size) but also not completely out of place. So while a lot of media headlines are reporting that Canada annihilated Norway, I call it an NHL score on a bad night. If Grotnis could have staying in for the whole game it may have been as low as 6-0, which would have been a very respectable score for Norway

There was not one NHLer playing for Norway last night. There are NHL teams that would have lost by a greater margin to this team of All-Stars with a payroll that must top 110 million easy.

I think the game was great for Norwegian hockey and maybe a ways down the line we'll see this country creep up the standings.

That being said GO CANADA GO!

Norway has scored on Miller! I Shorthanded too... I hope this shake's Miller's confidence for Sunday's matchup.

Good on Norway, who are losing 3-1 almost midway through the game.

I was impressed by the effort Norway showed in the 1st period, but these guys aren't on the same conditioning level as Canada. They ran out of gas (and Canada found their game) in the middle of the 2nd period.

Norway have some scoring power.

Sadly, a couple of their top firepower were injured before the games began, including Aask.

However, they have guys like Thoersen and Zuccarello-Aasen, which both are near the top in the Swedish Elite League & KHL leagues.
