After a night of upsets on the first night of the 2010 playoffs, which first round underdog team is most likely to pull off an upset and win the series?

When Hell freezes over, I'll play hockey there too.

I don't know if its the year of upsets, but simply we are seeing the results of "parity".

But they won't beat the Canucks

If LA can beat the Canucks they can beat any team...

Assuming that Phoenix is considered an underdog, I would say that the teams most likely to upset are Phoenix, Philadelphia and Boston.

Phoenix, well, they contended for the conference title !! I would not be surprised one bit if they beat Detroit.

Philadelphia beat NJ in 5 out of 6 regular season games this year. They just outplayed them. I know they have Boucher, but the rest of the team is largely the same.

Boston took 4 out of 6 from Buffalo, and played pretty well down the stretch.

As far as the underdog teams go I would list them in this order:

1. Phoenix
2. Los Angeles
3. Colorado
4. Nashville
5. Ottawa
6. Boston
7. Philadelphia
8. Montreal

Even though the Coyotes are seeded higher than the Wings I would still give them underdog status. I think the Devils/Flyers are really too close to call either of them underdogs but considering playoff placement the Flyers get the nod.

After watching the games I really think the Coyotes have a real good chance of defeating the Wings. When it comes to Howard vs Bryzgalov I would have more confidence in the latter. Howard looked a little shaky last night and if the Wings can't score more than two goals a game they'll be in trouble.

I would not of guessed Boucher would out play Brodeur though, that series could go all the way.

When Hell freezes over, I'll play hockey there too.

i would say Colorado, the Sharks can't play playoff hockey it seems to me. And i think the Coyotes will take the Wings in 6 or 7, but they are not underdogs IMO.
