Now that the season is over, what was the best moment of the season?

P.S. I didn't put Canada Winning Gold as an option simply because, well, pretty much everyone would vote for it, wouldn't have been fair to the other options :) lol

As a Leafs fan. Kessel scoring 30 goals and us acquiring Phaneuf were great moments.

As a hockey fan I would say when Philly came back from a 3-0 game deficit against the Bruins. AND came back from a 3-0 scoring deficit in game 7.

The funniest moment was when Patrick Kane score the Stanley Cup winning goal and nobody knew he scored but him. The look on the other players face saying what's going on did we just win????

But you're right I would of voted for Canada winning the gold medal, nothing beats that.

If you think for a second that I would bet on the Oilers either making the playoffs or being ahead of the Leafs in the standing, I have some Ocean Front Property for you just East of Edmonton!!

I am a gambling fool, but my bets will alway have at least a 50-50 chance of winning.

Hmm. I am still trying to think of a wager for next year, but I think both Beans and I will wait until all the dust settles from the trades and signings that are bound to come in the future. I don't see Beans betting on Edmonton finishing better than the Leafs this year, so we'll have to think of something else.

Slozo, you should keep your playoff bet, or at least one similar next year where one of you has to don the other's logo, but i think you should consider some monthly bets as well? Lemme know if you want a 3rd in, i'm game

Going back to the trade for Dion Phanuef, I was at the casino in Niagara that morning, Got an e-mail on my phone saying "Leafs acquire D Dion Phanuef"...all I remember was like 50 guys sitting around the one tv with Sportscentre on, and a couple of my boys who are die hard Sens fans were on the berry's trying to figure out as much info on the trade as possible...

Honestly, if a trade can cause people to stop what they're doing, and create that buzz, you have to admit that it was a biiiiig moment lol not to mention, the entire drive back to t.o., all we talked about was the trade lol

Beans, you're such a liar! Your best moment had to be Chicago winning the cup, cuz that's when you were able to get rid of that Leafs logo as your avatar!

I can't tell you exactly was moment it was, but some time through this season the Oilers got so bad there was no other way to go. Complete re-build, which really should have happened right after the Cup run, is now the direction of the Oilers.

Really, with the exception of the 06 Cup Run, the Oilers have been below average for 20ish years. The complete re-build is the only way to go and it was only this year that I (along with most other Oiler fans) figured this out.

That was the best moment of the year as if gives hope to a team and more importantly it's fans who deserve a winner.

As a Leaf fan, best moment was finding out about the trade that brought Dion Phaneuf . . . overrated or not, it brought real excitement to the city, and it showed that Burke was a GM who wasn't going to sit around and wait for trades to come to him. It's nice to see a GM who I can already tell works his butt off trying to make the team better.

As a hockey fan, there were several great moments . . . Stamkos getting 50, and especially Crosby getting 50, which I never thought he'd ever do . . . game 7 Montreal Washington . . . and several of the finals games were really excellent (game 3 was awesome). Loved the youtube moments that Pronger had.

Not a bad season at all, even with that disrespectful punk Kane winning the cup on his game winner . . . not bad at all. Will be even better this year with a certain team making the playoffs ;)

The 60+ games in between though...not so good

As a Rangers fan, my favorite moments were both the beginning & end of the regular season. The Rangers shot out of the gate. After losing the opener, they went on a 7 game winning streak.
And after the March 21st loss to the Islanders, even the most optimistic fan as myself realized they weren't going to make it. Yet they went on another huge run, going 7-1-1 leading up to the winner-is-in showdown with the Flyers, ultimately losing 2-1 in a shoot-out. I was proud of the way they battled down the stretch though, and Henrik Lundqvist was brillant.

i agree 101 it blew my mind the day my brother texted me and told me we got dion, i didnt believe him at all then when i watched his first game it brought excitement back to the team and i think its only going to get better now.

I also voted for the Hawks winning the Cup.

Personally though, as a Leafs fan, my favourite moment was when the Leafs traded for Dion Phaneuf. After that first fight with Colin White I felt our club was going to change going forwards.

Hopefully the Leafs get their next Cup soon ;)

I was sorely disappointed this season with the regular season, due to the oilers being so bad, but the playoffs made up for it.

Some of the best goaltending I've seen in a while from Halak while upsetting the Caps & Pens.

Philly getting into the finals with Boucher & Leighton in tnet? Talk about fairy tale!

Chicago winning is nice to see, as they were a basement team for so many years. How long they will be able to stay good is yet to be seen, with cap issues, so I am happy they won this year, as they may not be able to have a team like this one again next year.

voted for the hawks takin the cup. although it's not that big of a surprise it was amazing due to the huge amount of time they went without a cup...aside from that i would say hossa winning a cup, i really didnt want him to but since he was a hawk i didnt mind. i can't stand hossa and i bet now that he has won the cup he totally fades and is definatly not worth that big contract. maybe im wrong but we will see
