Wow I cant believe how good opening day was. I am also a huge baseball fan but I could not turn away from the Edmonton Vs Calgary game. That game had everything. Firstly a goal that looked good to me called back without even going upstairs, to Eberle with an amazing goal to a awsome knocout.

So, it's not opening night as per the thread topic, but it is the first Sat night of hockey. Guess what, i'm already sick of seeing the Leafs on HNIC!!! J/K guys....actually enjoying the game and they look pretty good. Kessel with his second on the year is off to a great start and is looking pretty good! Of course, i'm just sitting here, swilling beers and flipping between MLB playoffs and Leaf hockey, passing the time till the Canucks game comes on! How can i not be excited for a game involving the biggest group of Beans annoyers, the worst fans in hockey, to hear the LOOOOOOUUUUU chants for his routine saves and to look forward to Nux-sux heckling me after every loss!!!! Oh baby, IT'S BACK!!!

Who was this rook in net for the Flyers anyway? Didn't hear much about them in the preseason, did this guy play well? I heard Leighton was hurt but had no idea this guy would be their starter?

I watched the Pitt / Philly game and was not dissapointed.
End to end, chances for both, very physical game. Philly had a 22 yr old rookie in net who looked fantastic. Fleury looks to have regained his form as well. Awesome start for the 1st game.

Tbar....i agree, some good hockey last night. Of course, we've all been starved of hockey for a few months so any reg season game would prob suffice?

I will say this though, i love a good hockey fight as much as the next guy but i got a sick feeling in my stomach when i saw the KO.
