Posted - 03/05/2011 : 19:20:12 Ok, I admit there was some contact to the head on Perron, happy beans, It wasn't a elbow square in the head like cooke on savard but there was contact to the jaw. The reason perron and crosby were and are out so long is because they came back to play

Wrong nuxfan, Perron came back, played against EDM, and tripped/fell as Horcoff skated by, Perron's head making contact with Horcoff's knee.
Wasn't that Mcdonald? I think perron finished the SJ game then hasn't played since |

Posted - 03/05/2011 : 21:10:14 In the case of Crosby, he did come back for a couple of games, before recieving the second big hit in TB, and then went out. Perron did finish that game against SJ (and didn't have any other significant hits AFAIC remember), but has not played a game since.

Posted - 03/05/2011 : 19:52:40 Treatment of concussion involves monitoring and rest. Symptoms usually go away entirely within three weeks, though they may persist, or complications may occur.[6] Repeated concussions can cause cumulative brain damage such as dementia pugilistica or severe complications such as second-impact syndrome.
That's from wiki
I'm guessing they both had second-impact syndrome, crosby definitely did |

But no one can say that they are out so long because they came back to play. Though both received additional damage because they came back, there is no way of telling how long they would have been out had they not come back.
One thing is right, coming back too early from a concussion is not worth the risk.
