Ok folks, self explanatory:

Tell everyone what you think the final score will be, who the stars of the game will be, and any other interesting or hilarious predictions which may or may not come true.

Put your beer on ice, heat up that pizza, and let's build up the atmosphere on PUH before the puck drops!

BRUINS WIN THE STANLEY CUP! BRUINS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!

It's been a very long time.

Little fun fact:

tonight, whether it be Sedin or Chara, this will be the second time in one hundred years that a non Canadian captain will hoist the cup!

Guess us canadians have some leadership in our blood!

Love the predictions . . . keep 'em comin'!

Hey, no one out there think it might be a higher scoring affair? The way this series has gone in terms of unpredictability . . . anything could happen, really.

HAHA! love the detail! Go Boston!

Willus is right, if Boston can move Luongo a round a lot then there is a good chance for Boston. But if Vancouver can tighten up it's depleted d-core it's Vancouver's game.

There is no real reason to suspect that the outcome of tonight's game will be much different than previous Vancouver games. I'd love to think that Vancouver will find their offensive spark but I don't think they will. Unless Thomas screws up we're looking at another reasonably low scoring Rogers Arena game.

Vancouver 3-2 (OT winner by Henrik - ya that's right I said OT!)

Thomas wins Conn Smythe, no surprise there. If Thomas loses in spectacular fashion tonight (like Luongo did in game 3) then you might consider these other guys - Krejci, Burrows, H Sedin, Kesler. But none of them have really shown up in the finals either so even if Thomas tanked he's still at least as valuable as any of the above...probably still even better. The only way one of the Canucks listed above wins this is if they have an epic, career defining night which results in Thomas looking like a minor leaguer...probably not going to happen so you gotta give it to Thomas.

I want to take my little 10 month old girl out into the street party so I'm definitely hoping for a fun, but peaceful night.

Go Canucks! (that tasted TERRIBLE BTW!!!!!! Only because I live here )

I'm predicting 4-1 for the Canucks, and the Sedins to combine for 3 or 4 points. Thomas wins the Conn Smythe.
Alex116 Posted - 06/15/2011 : 10:52:49
While i like Slozo's dream, i don't see many penalties being called at all. Didn't someone mention that game 7 with Boston and TB had 0 penalties called? I see something similar, with one or two at most.....

Anyway, this isn't a dream, but i'll take it!

Canucks start as they did last game, with pressure in the Boston end early. Thomas weathers the storm and keeps it a 0-0 game through 1.

Second period, the Sedin's find themselves on the ice without the Chara / Seidengerg duo thanks to last change. Thanks to the long change in the 2nd, the B's can't get their "big 2" on the ice and the Sedin's get the cycle going in the Bruin's end. Puck ends up back at the point and a KEITH BALLARD shot produces a rare rebound opportunity for Daniel to bang home the 1-0 goal.
The Bruins have a "bounce back" shift and pepper Luongo who holds strong and closes out the period with a few fine saves keeping it 1-0 after 2.

The 3rd starts in a flurry of B's pressure in the Canucks end and the Orca's get called for a few icing calls while under pressure. Midway through the third with the Canucks playing much too defensively for my liking with a 1 goal lead, the Bruins break through and Krejci puts a pass to local boy Lucic on a 2 on 1 for the tying goal.
It's the Canucks turn for a bounce back shift and the door is once again shut by Thomas. With under 7 minutes left, Jannik Hansen is sprung loose on a breakaway and fires a snapshot top shelf on Thomas, who gets a piece of it, but it trickles over the line. No need for a review.
With just 6 mins left, the Canucks are hanging on for their dear lives. I, along with thousands of others, am nearly crapping my pants, literally! Luongo holds the fort and my waitress, who's glad the playoffs are finally done, is giving me a death stare as i'm firing my beer all over the place!!! Pandemonium ensue's all over Vancouver, and much to guest9215's dismay [*see "Canucks most hated team thread*], the city is not on fire!

I'll keep a sharp eye out for that one, Fat Elvis. You've been right before . . . and certainly hope you are right again!

Purely from a . . . ehem . . . hockey / prediction standpoint, naturally.

(I definitely have to watch this game at someone else's house)

First things first, that fat, annoying opera singer will trip and fall mouth open on the mic. No serious injury but he will be unable to sing the anthem. The fans will do it for him.

Good Golly, I have never wanted a prediction to come true less than Slozo's!! I can accept a Vancouver win, I can accept a win in overtime. However, I will be sick if Burrows, Lapierre, or Torres score the winner.

Here is my wish prediction:

Boston comes out like a house on fire. Hitting, gouging, sticking, cheating, everything to give the Canucks fans fits. Two goals before the 10 min mark for Boston. The teams will play back and for afterwards for the next 30 minutes so it will be 2-0 after the 2nd period. Vancouver comes out and scores one in the first 10 minutes of third. Following that, 10-15 minutes of the most action packed hockey you will ever see. Thomas stands on his head and stops about 15 shots in the final 5 minutes preserving the 2-1 win, the Cup for Boston, and a very deserving Conn Smythe.

For the record, I will also accept a Canucks win if it is tight, dramatic, close game. I don't want to see a blow out from either team. I want to see a great hockey game.

THAT is an absolutely brilliant piece of work! Kudo's to the guy who came up with that! Funny stuff!

I will 100% guarantee that a fat bearded man will sing the anthems in Vancouver tonight . . . beyond that, no guarantees!

But here goes:

I think it'll be a tense 1st period, ending in a flurry of rushes for both sides, both goalies making great saves along the way. Near the end of the first period, Lucic gets a penalty for doing something stupid, and Daniel Sedin scores on the power play, 1-0.

2nd period, Boston comes out storming the net, but they get called on a few penalties and it kills their momentum. Game then settles down into a tense, low chance affair. Score still 1-0 Canucks after 2.

3rd period, Boston again comes out guns blazing, and early on Bergeron makes a nifty move around a d-man and puts it top shelf, 1-1, and it's a new game. Then Vancouver starts on the attack, and after a few minutes, it's Kesler to Higgins who rips it past a screened Thomas, 2-1. The game gets incredibly exciting at that point, and it's back and forth, with Boston pressing and taking chances on the rush, and Vancouver getting odd man rushes in return. With 2 and a half minutes to go, with a huge muddle in front of the net, the old man Recchi picks up a loose puck and somehow slides it past a sprawled Luongo to once again tie the game. 2-2, and that's how the third ends.

We then head to overtime in game 7 . . . delicious!

Overtime starts with few chances, and it's tight checking all the way. On a routine shoot-in before a line change, the puck hits the boards oddly and bounces out right in front of Thomas, who goes to play the puck while Torres comes in hard to get it. Thomas goes to body check him, hits him hard, but never sees Torres get a sliver of a stick on the puck, and it dribbles slowly through Thomas' legs, barely crossing the goal line before a diving Chara can get there.

Canucks win, Boston argues for video review, and the fans go wild.

*note: this is only from a dream slozo had, it may not turn into reality . . . but it'd be fun!

Depends if Boston decides to get Luongo moving east/west or if Vancouver's game plan is to not allow that to happen.
If they can get Luongo moving Boston will win the Cup.

Conn Smythe is Thomas's either way.
