Not sure if anyone caught this story, but apparently the Bruins went out bowling(?) as a team and after the bowling they hit the bar. They racked up a $156,000 bar tab. Seriously.

When you read deeper in to the story, $100,000 of that was some 30 litre bottle of champagne(Ace Midas) that is super rare. I read there are only 6 known bottles. The story is the bottle was a gift from the owners of MGM-Foxwood's Casino where they were bowling and partying and the deal was the Bruin players would all sign the bottle afterwards and it would be auctioned off for charity.

Regardless, that is still a $56,000 tab. That's almost two grand per player. Here is a link to a picture of the bill. If you look at the bottom you will see almost $7,500 in taxes and nearly $25,000 is 'service charges"

I wish I was a hockey player....... But I wouldn't be going bowling!

That is still an huge bill, regardless of how you look at it. Even at $20 a drink at a high end casino club, that's 50 drinks. 50!

It's not like they were paying for lap dances, this was straight booze.

Lots of booze.

I don't care who you are or how much you think you can drink, a bottle and a half of anything is a sick amount of booze.

That's not that much, actually, and I say that as a former bartender. Remarkably easy to run up huge tabs when buying bottles and drinks and especially shots for you and friends. A cheap round of shots for 10 people is 50 bucks . . . and once you start doing fancy shots, maybe 100.

And with all the quality puck bunny action, that entices a LOT of hangers-on . . . and heavier drinking for the men. I've seen it myself - not with hockey players, but with other celebrity visits in bars.

Beans....keep in mind, there were more than just players there. I saw some pics and there were an awful lot of ladies (and others) in the crowd it seemed. I'm sure there were family and friends there? Either way, sick bill, especially the champagne!

Read somewhere that it was the owner of the B's who bought it but maybe i misread it? Heard he "one upped" Mark Cuban who bought his Mavs a bottle half the size. Lol. Just half? Then again, isn't there only about a dozen guys on a basketball team?

i believe it a while back some buddy s and i were in a boston pizza hockey tourny.. the winners got 1000 $ to spend at the bar at boston pizza and free food for the night ,, well needless to say we won and well 15 of us racked up 7900 $ on top of the grand boston pizza was paying for, now i make a decent salary but nowhere near the least payed players on the bruins so if i can find a way to spend 600$ in a night because we won some silly boston pizza tourny i am not surprised guys who make millions and just won a stanley cup racked up a 56 000 $ bill

then again thats an impressive bar tab lol
