Posted - 06/26/2011 : 12:01:50 With Winnipeg getting a NHL franchise again and the AHL Moose moving to St. John, does anyone know what Vancouver plans to do for a farm team? There were a bunch of rumours about it before the Thrashers officially moved, but none of those involved the Moose moving as far East as geographically possible like they have.
Anybody know or care to speculate? |

Posted - 06/26/2011 : 19:18:57 The Wolves would be good from the airport hub aspect of it. Still seems pretty far away but that's all you can really do with the AHL - the Abbotsford team is an oddity.
I wonder how much this will effect the Canucks. They seemed to have a pretty good farm system going on with the Moose. |

Posted - 06/26/2011 : 17:49:17 The Canucks have apparently entered into an agreement with the Chicago Wolves as their AHL farm team. Same distance as WIN was, and CHI is an easy hub that gets players anywhere all the time should we need emergency callups.
St Johns would have sucked geographically speaking for a VAN farm team. |
