Oilers netminder Nikolai Khabibulin dropped his appeal, and has accepted a 30 day jail sentence. He will begin serving his sentence in the next few days, and he will probably serve only 15 days out of his 30 day sentence.
It was probably the right move for Khabibulin. (Dropping the appeal – definitely not the drinking and driving, and speeding.) He can serve his sentence and be back on the ice in time for training camp. |

Any link for this news?
Hadn't heard of this until now . . . hmm. I am surprised, frankly. Usually, they get the star treatment, but this is encouraging to hear in some ways.
