Does anyone know the rules regarding injury pay? I assume an injured player is fully paid when injured, but how does it work for players trying to make a team?

For example, Taylor Fedun (Oilers defenseman prospect) looked good to make the team, but he broke his leg on an icing play. (During the team's second last exhibition game.)

He has a two-way contract, and accordingly to CapGeek, his AHL salary is $67.5k while his NHL salary (cap hit) is $900k.

So what do the Oilers pay him this season?

my understanding is that it depends on where you are hurt. If you are hurt in the NHL, then you get paid your NHL salary while you recover. However, I could be wrong - anyone know for sure?
