I would say that although Toronto is in first place in the northeast with 19 points an easy early season schedule is largely responsible. to me a bigger surprise is Boston in last place, especially considering the spring they had.
Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?" |

How about Dallas leading the West with 20 points (10-3-0).
Yeah, although we saw this same dance last season, DAL were second in the conference as late as Christmas. Howver, then they faded down the stretch to finish out of the playoffs...so more of the same this season? Hard to say. |

I think considering the spring they had, it shouldn't be much of a surprise that they're struggling - playing at that level that far into the summer, not much time for rest and healing in the summer. Both VAN and BOS have been off to very poor starts - although we're used to that from Luongo in October, we're not used to it from the entire team, they have played very badly in some games. I have only seen a couple of BOS games, but they also don't look themselves. Perhaps last year's run is taking its toll.
SJ and TB (the other two semi-finalists) are also off to slow starts, although TB finally showed some life last night.
I think EDM and TOR leading their respective conferences has to be a bit of a surprise, even though it is early. |
