Posted - 11/11/2011 : 16:49:13 So, the Hurricanes and Rangers are playing as i type, and i've just finished reading an interesting write-up on the hit Eric Staal laid on his brother Marc and whether or not the Rangers would seek retribution??? Here's the article.... http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Should-Rangers-seek-retribution-on-Eric-Staal-fo;_ylt=Au79FyMW76HZX4P_FK6CJGZShgM6?urn=nhl-wp17164
Now, watch the video, and from what i see, the hit looks totally clean. It seems strange to me that there's even a thought that maybe it was intent to injure? I think this is a great example of how a clean hit can become so much more. There's no way, in my mind, that Eric intended to injure his brother, especially not to that degree!!! I think this shows just how easy a clean hit can result in a bad situation. |

As for the hit, it was clean & Eric obviously wasn't trying to injure his brother...just an unfortunate result. |

Posted - 11/11/2011 : 16:58:59 the hit was clean. the fact that they're brothers, and close by all accounts, means its even less likely that there was intent to injure. A whole lot of nothing being blown into something more by the press. |
