The Turris saga is officially over!
Kyle Turris has been traded to Ottawa for a second round draft pick and defenceman David Rundblad.

This is hilarious!!!!
3rd overall pick in 2007 draft, who was vastly over-paid, under-preformed, and still wanted more money from the Phoenix Coyotes Organization.
What a farce! How can someone who is a huge disappointment, refuse to play, and when he did play, did absolutely nothing. 50 points in over 3 seasons? And he's only 2 picks away from Patrick Kane?
I remember back in '07 before the draft, people were expecting Turris to get picked before Kane. Goes to show you that you never know how good a player is until he gets to "The Show"
Anyways, its disgusting how such a mediocre player could DEMAND so much from a Organization. I'm sure Phoenix is glad to have Turris off their books!
Another funny thing, was the Phoenix manager, Don Maloney swore up and down, Turris was not going to get his way, and get a trade. Funny.
The Coyote's should relocate to Quebec City!!! Or any Canadian city for that matter. Will do a lot more good in Canada! |

I'm a big Sens fan and I think I love this trade. I think Rundblad had huge upside and could become an amazing player. But I think that if Turris can be as good as he should be, he could become a franchise player. And really setting up our centers for the upcoming years.
He was playing a defensive game out in Phoenix, and that's not his style. His speed and strength will fit in between Alfredson and Michalek. He could be a Franchise player for us. Or we could forever regret giving up Rundblad. But at least he's out in the west. |

I really hate this trade. I know Runblad has had a bad start but so did Karlsson in his first year and I think he's going to turn out to be a good player. Did Bryan Murray not learn from the Filatov expiriment? I think one thing that allowed BM to make this deal is Jared Cowens emergance as a top shutdown defenseman.
