If you could magically have one NHL-related wish granted for Christmas this year, what would it be?

This can either be NHL-wide (say removing the Instigator rule) or team-specific (like the Nordiques coming back).

What's your wish?

Jarome Iginla to crack 100 points for the first time in his NHL career. Those extra few points would mean a few more wins, which would mean a playoff spot for the Flames. Sigh.

Being from PEI, i'd LOVE to see this! Unforunately i just don't think the Maritimes could support an NHL franchise.

I knew that I noticed as soon as I posted but I was to lazy to change it but who really cares how you spell it as long as he starts playing like him.

You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take Wayne Gretzky

I think now that Christmas is over and boxing day sales are on I should get two wishes. I will choose Ovie to return to greatness and Kyle Turris to become the second coming of Joe Sacik.

My wish would have to be for the Canucks to win the cup for sure. I don't know if I really want to go through the stress of 4 playoff rounds again though!

I saw on twitter a few days ago where Darren Dreger said "There are some NHL people who believe Getzlaf, for the right price might become available at some point."

If that ever did turn out to be the case...he'd look good in Toronto, and there is the Brian Burke connection.
The Duke Posted - 12/24/2011 : 20:53:22
I`d like to see Eric Staal in leafs jersey too Slozo...but at what cost ??
Would it really be worth what they would have to give up ? I`d move Schenn in a heartbeat for some serious help up front.

I think Burke will make a serious trade, no doubt. Funny thing about these blockbusters though, usually they involve a player whom no-body seen coming and not the names thrown around.

Rick Nash maybe ?? Jeff Carter??

Really though.with the salary cap involved...how can Burke bring in one of those big - time money guys without moving leaf cap space ?

My wish is for all seven Canadian teams to make the playoffs. This may be seven wishes though, so I'm probably over the wish limit!

Vancouver doesn't need a Christmas wish to make the playoffs. They will be there, but all other six Canadian teams have their work cut out, especially Edmonton.

Well, I suppose every person here can say a stanley cup for their favourite team, and I'd be no different. But that's too easy, so I will ask for a present from the Hockey Saints that is at least possible and within the realm of being realistic.

My wish is for my Leafs to get Eric Staal as a belated Christmas present this season.

Wrapped up in a bow would be if we could somehow get him without overpaying . . . I'd rather give up Aulie instead of Schenn; I'd like to keep Kadri and Colborne if the deal can be made; and certainly a kid like Gardiner would not be available in a deal of this nature. As my as I love the guy, if Grabovski has to go, then fair enough, I'll wish him the best. Package him with a d-man or two like Aulie and maybe prospect Blacker, or something of that nature without giving away a first round pick.

But yeah, I'd like Eric Staal please. Because after that, my "stanley cup" wish would be tangibly closer to a possible reality.

As a Canucks fan, it's pretty obvious.....a Stanley Cup. But if i can be a little greedy (hey, i've been extra good this year! ), it would include four game sweeps of Chicago in the conference final and Boston in the final! Oh, an no riots.....

The return of the glory and pride of wearing the Habs jersey for the players. The return of fans pride at the same time.
