Yes - absolutely, but there are a lot of possibilities. Each conference is tight, and with overall league parity, anyone can win a series. The difference between finishing 1st or 8th is not as vast as in the past, and when you look at the top 3 or 4 teams in each conference, there's not a lot separating the top teams. Having said that, the Bruins look very very good right now, well past their first month "hangover" slump.
BTW - I don't get the hate-on for the Canucks. They're not "my" team, but they deserve some respect. They're a very good team, who could once again make it to the Stanley Cup Final. In my opinion, they have as good a chance of being there as the Wings, Wild or Hawks. (And a better chance than the rest of the best in the west.) |

Posted - 01/01/2012 : 17:19:17 I could see the Bruins making it out of the East again this year, but I really doubt that the Canucks will go that far again this year... Chicago or Detroit are more likely.

Posted - 01/01/2012 : 14:24:31 I don't see it this year Hawks, Wings in the west and Flyers, Penguins in the East will be tough for both in the playoffs. Not to mention upstart Rangers and the Kings could become strong contenders as well. Having said that both Canucks and Bruins will be tough too. It takes a lot of things to go right to make it to 16 wins and the cup! Luck, Health, and great goaltending!! I predicted LA vs Pitt. with my buddies last summer however after the first half I like the Hawks in the west and Bruins in the East based on play to date. Canucks and Rangers get my honourable mention. Should be a good run tho!!

Posted - 12/31/2011 : 16:23:19 I agree nucks vs bruins highly possible. There is unfinished business between those 2 teams.
Rehire marc crawford? go home. |

Posted - 12/31/2011 : 16:03:29 I don't think this matchup would be all that competitive this year. The Bruins are way too good for that series to even be close. |

Posted - 12/31/2011 : 15:23:39 Everybody hates repeats, if you're a bruins fan or a nucks fan can't you at least hope for a different team to play in the finals, obviously you want your team in, but come on, seriously.... No one else is gunning for a canucks bruins final, unless they have a morbid fear of variety, not very common as far as I know. |

Posted - 12/31/2011 : 15:13:31 Canucks fans can pray for a cup this year but it won't happen.Too soft , no pure goal scorer and a coach who thinks giggling at press conferences makes him likable. Two things that would help their chances are to trade for Selanne and to rehire Marc Crawford as coach. HE loves to push his offence and with the speed I see on this team it just might work. |
