As bad as Carolina is right now and how above expectations Ottawa is playing I might be tempted to make this trade. Alfredson is a point a game player of similar quality. You cant take a point away from Alfredson because he has depth around him. He gets Powerplay and Penalty Kill time and is still one of the go to guys in Ottawa. Stall may not recover to a point a game pace like his earlier career. Alfredson has averaged a point a game pace since 1999-2000, with only last year as a bad stat year with 31points in 51 games. Right now Alfredson has 32 points in 37 games which is better than Stalls 29 in 43 games. I am not saying advantage Alfredson but based on Ytd Alfredson for Stall wouldnt bad a bad decision.

1. Team: Ottawa is all-around better
Alfie 1 Stall 0
2 Production :Alfie's 42nd in league Stall:75th Alfie 2 Stall 0
3.Age. Stall is younger everyone knows Alfie 2 Stall 1
4. Linemates: Alfie has Turris and Condra Stall has Ruttu and Jokinen. Condra worst one here then Turris then Ruutu then Jokinen that means Alfie 2 Stall2
5. Dependence:Ottawa depend on Alfie a lot but Spezza and Karlsson steped up. In Carolina though, Skinner is injured so Stall feels like there only hope. Therefore, final score Stall:3 Alfie:2
You can judge them yourself or re-evaluate them. It's the guide to find a succesful trade don't take it is my take. DON'T TAKE IT!

Alfie on high point of season. Staal is rebounding nicely with 8 points in his last 4 games but is generally on a low. DON'T buy high and sell low!! Staal will be a point per game guy the rest of the way. Alfie will not be!.

Are you serious? Staal is a star in this league for many more years. Alfredsson will be retiring in a couple of years. Staal is breaking out of his slump. Never trade him for that.

Well i think it's safe to say it's not a keeper. I'd consider it...personally i would hold on to Staal, but it's your choice.
