Posted - 04/26/2012 : 13:15:10 the only silver lining to the Canucks being out, is BOS and CHI both being out as well. I don't think I've cared about a non-Canuck involved playoff round as much as I did wanting the Caps to win... |

I think if that goal happens in the first period it is no goal.
That's ok, it keeps my perfect record in picking the losing team as the winning team. I just need Ottawa to win tonight and I successfully picked every losing team as the winner.
Daniel Alfredsson is the MVP of the universe. All hail the Ottawa Senators!!!!!
i didn't think it was goaltender interference at all. in fact i thought it was a great hockey play. how many time do you see a guy skate right by the net after a play and miss a chance to score. granted, he didn't score the goal.... he did what you teach kids: go to the net hard and wait for a rebound or garbage goal.

Funny stuff, watch from the :20-:30sec part of the clip for the fake slash / Obi Wan tribute!

OMG that is too funny! Holtby just stands their with his arms crossed. probably knew full well that the referee was right behind him and Peverly wouldn't be stupid enough to follow through with the threat. but still........not even a flinch! classic! |

Posted - 04/26/2012 : 10:52:54 Exactly Gipper! The post series handshake has been for years, one of the greatest things to watch. I love the sportsmanship these guys show after trying to punish each other for 4-7 games.
As for the link to the Boston fans, i question that site. While there's gonna be bad fans in EVERY city, racist ones too, i find it hard to believe that 99% of those posts are using the "n" word to describe Ward. There's no way that's a good sample of Bruins fans. |

lots of players smile during the hand shake after they've lost the series. its simply part of their good sportsmanship persona. |

Posted - 04/26/2012 : 08:17:29 Maybe Tim Thomas was relieved, knowing that he now doesn't have to deal with a White House invite this year!?! :)

Posted - 04/26/2012 : 07:57:19 I didn't find it the most entertaining game either, each team was playing it safe which was understandable. Was VERY glad to see the Caps put the Bruins out in the end. Was also very happy to see ex-UPEI Panther Joel Ward score the winner, especially after the trying season he has had.
Was anyone else surprised Tim Thomas didn't complain that he was interferred with by Knuble on the winning goal?

Posted - 04/26/2012 : 07:38:48 i'm quite happy as an habs fan that the bruins are out. it feels almost as good as if we won our first round.
i would like to know if it's common or not in the nhl fanbase to hate on the GWG scorer or just mad boston fans.....

they also hate PK Subban, those Boston fans
joe is a god, if u dont agree....i dont care |

Posted - 04/26/2012 : 05:35:05 did anyone else feel that last night's game 7, even though it went into OT, was a snore fest? it was literally a game of who blinks first.
what the frack happened to Boston? they were a far cry from the Big Bad Bruins we've seen this year. |

Posted - 04/10/2012 : 16:28:35 Caps in 6 because....
They are playing in a position of the underdog which is unfamilar territory prior to this year. Maybe that's the very change to their mindset they need. Now they're healthy other than goalies, They certainly have enough talent and I think with less pressure and maybe even some added motivation to make up for the season, the Caps are gonna be deadly.
Maybe I'm just hoping for those Russian boys to regain some pride and surpass they're underachieving history this year, Holtby to be that feel good story of a surpirse goalie stealing a few series, Green to retain ppg form while quaterbacking the pp, Depth players chippin in and getting physical like Ward and Knuble, Backstrom having an Crosbyesk' type of return, Carlson to make another big career OT GWG, and or a reinactment of that scene in D2- The Might Ducks when the goalie skates to the oppositions blueline, pulls off his mask to everyone's suprise of it being that kid that can shoot nuckle pucks, then he dramatically shoots a nuckle puck for the game winning goal. But instead of that kid it has to be Obama pulling off the mask and saying something sweet like. 'Your not invited this year, Timmy". Then grabs onto a flying bald eagle that flies him right out of the arena.

Posted - 04/10/2012 : 08:30:30 I like Washington as the underdog here . . . Bruins will not have the same fire, and after a lot of hockey played the last two years, they will fizzle this year. Ovechkin and Backstrom lead the charge.
Caps in 6.

Posted - 04/10/2012 : 08:14:05 Bruins in 6. It'll take em a few games to get rolling. The Caps have 'saved' themselves for playoff hockey this season but the Bears have too much for them to handle.
Who the cap fits...Let them wear it. |

Posted - 04/10/2012 : 07:50:39 Boston is a much better team, and they should be able to get past the Caps. That said, it really wouldn't surprise me that much either if the Caps were able to pull off the upset. They played well down the stretch, and Ovechkin is scoring again (11 goals in final 13 games). Nicklas Backstrom is finally back & healthy again as well. I was at the game in NY on Saturday, and Backstrom had a really strong game. Bruins in 6. |

Posted - 04/09/2012 : 17:45:47 Well even if Rask is hurt, Boston still has one more NHL goalie than Washington right now. Aren't all of Washington's goalies injured now. I say Bruins in 5 unless Ovie becomes a man possessed. |

Posted - 04/09/2012 : 15:53:30 Thomas is not the force that he was last year and Washington are all getting healthy at the right time. A tough series but Washington wins in 7.
The biggest upset in the first round. |

Posted - 04/09/2012 : 13:12:06 yeah but boston has one of the best defences and one of the best goalie tandems in the league. ovi is not what he used to be. all boston has to do is stick chara on ovi and there goes the caps chances.
its as bad as the leafs just keep a guy on kessel and they dont standa chance in hell at winngin a thing.
(please note at no time am i trying to make this a leaf thread. i am simple using kessel as an example) |

Posted - 04/09/2012 : 13:06:18 I like Boston too, after all they are one of my favorite teams. But you guys are forgetting Ovechkin is on a hot streak and Backstrom and Green are coming back off injuries. So if Ove is having a bad season maybe it was because he wasn't beside Backstom anymore. 2 Superstars are better than 1. Not to mention Green is one of the best defensemen in the NHL. |
