Don´t have to be based upon skill and achivements you can like the guy for other reasons he can be a good hitter have good character etc. Can be goalies and retired players as well.

Here´s mine: Kenny Jönsson

Have to be one of, if not the most underrated player in the world. A Defenceman as of now on par with Lidström minus some offensive capability (my opinion).

First choice when it comes to taking out players for team sweden and he always accept the invitation. A Captain in 2006 Olympics Kenny played the final with two broken ribs and internal bleedings without even his twin brother knowing about it...sweden won the game and Kenny was elected best defenceman of the olympics in competition with some other pretty good d-men participating.

Playing for Rögle BK (the club that raised him) in the Swedish tier two league (Hockey)Allsvenskan he turned down many multi-million dollar bids from the NHL because he values his family life in sweden highly.
He played 9 seasons in the NHL. 1 in Toronto and 8 for the Islanders.

Note: His twinbrother Jörgen Jönsson has the record for most played nationals with sweden, is the box play specialist of Tre kronor and is the only player who have won Wc, Olympics and the Elite Leage the same year.

Ya but hes the worst defensive player of all time

Take a guess. I like Kariya and Selanne because ever since I was born the ducks were my favorite team, til about 2 years ago(there now second) I just used to love watching Kariya and Selanne's plays. I also like Selanne because he is the leading rookie scorer with the Winnipeg Jets( I live 20 minutes away from Winnipeg).

Doesn´t matter if someone else has mentioned a player before, I´m intrested to know who`s your favorite. And I also like Afinogenov the guy has scored the best looking goal i´ve ever seen.
You have probably already seen it but here it is anyway:

Victory awaits him who has everything in order--luck, people call it. Defeat is certain for him who has neglected to take the necessary precautions in time; this is called bad luck.

My favourite NHLer is actually Jochen Hecht. I love the way he plays, he can make some sweet moves in close, can make great passes and is an amazing finisher. I think he'd be a great steal for a GM.

Daniel Briere!!!!!! The guy is so skilled its unbeliavble. He is a small guy that plays like hes 6 foot 5. Any team would be lucky to have him.

I like Afinogenov because, as Saku said, he's not lazy, and in fact quite the opposite. He's one of the fastest players in the league and a great stick-handler. It's fun to watch him play because he makes some sweet plays at that speed and is a solid goal-scorer. And plus he's on the Sabres

Mik I said that LOL. And yes one of the most entertaining players to watch. If he played a whole season he is a 30 goal scorer and close to 90 points.
1 Crosby fan Posted - 05/18/2007 : 14:39:36
Well my current favorite player(s) is Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin, I like Sidney because well he just i dunno i hust like him(as a player) and for Ovechkin because it is pretty much him out there and last year no one knew what he can do so he put up them points but this year now everyone knows so he can't put up as many points as he did last and also because he has pretty much no team mates(only Alexander Semin pretty much).

And my Retired favorite player would have to be Steve Yzerman or Stevie Y. I like him because he was so good, he kinda liked controlled the game and he Captained 20 of his 23 years of his career thats a long time and because He just had hockey sense.

Trevor Linden.

He has done so much, not just for the Canucks, but for the city as well. His charitable work is second to none, perhaps in the history of the league.
Sure his skills have diminished, but he is always there when the game, or the season is on the line. Remember him in '94? If his opponent was anyone other than Messier, he'd be revered in the same manner as Messier is/was that same season.
And most of all, he is class all the way. Look at the way that he has dealt with the Saskin issue. Not one NHL'er had a bad thing to say about him. Well, Tie Dumi insulted him, but consider the source.

Peter Stastny, because he played for the avs, (actually Nordiques), was the first European to be named captain, and had the second best rookie season ever, first ever rookie to score 100 points and my five favorite players are the Stastny 5

Chris Drury

a winner no matter where he goes, could have been a mlb pitcher, (pitched the deciding game in an u.s victory in the little leauge world series) if i had to put out a line in the last minute of a game to either tie the game up or protect my lead drury would be on that line, he has a heas for both ends of the rink and even in career of playing along side the likes of joe sakic peter forsberg teemu karyia fleury deadmarsh heduk bourque blake foot roy all superstar he still has 17 GWG's in the playoffs and still in my opinion shined brighter on the ice then a lot of those guys

Ryan Smyth, I like him because of his heart, always first guy on the ice for warm up and last one to leave. And he always gives pucks to the kids in the stands. It just shows how much he loves the game. He's not my favorite play though.

My favorite player is Maxim Afinogenov, reason I think he is one of few Russians who is not lazy, like I said in that one topic. He has great speed and he works hard to get back in the defensive zone, and he can take one for the team like being benched in game 4 of the Rangers series he didn't complain he just sat out and watched. He's a great player.
