I'm not sure if anyone else watches the show or happened to see this episode, but I thought I'd mention it as I found it quite amusing.
A couple weeks ago as part of the NHL's publicity push, the Cup appeared in the show Boston Legal. It's a fantastic show by the way. Possibly the best writing on tv today. Anyway, the show opened up with one of the lawyers (William Shatner) talking with another lawyer (James Spader), reminiscing about old finals and they actually showed Orr's famous goal. And somehow Shatner had the cup on his desk in his office because he has some pull apparently.
Then at the end of the show these two guys are always enjoying a single malt and a cigar, ruminating about some pertinent social issue of the day on their high rise balcony. So Shatner says lets drink out of the cup. They do this and it's pretty funny but then he says take a picture of me with it and he sets it on the rail of the balcony against the better judgment of Spader. And of course the inevitable happens and the cup falls many stories from the balcony. The two lawyers then sneak off innocently. That was the end of the show. It was hilarious and sickening all at the same time.
Just thought I'd share that. Even aside from that episode though I can't say enough about how great it is. Very well done. David E. Kelly is a genius.
He also wrote Mystery Alaska. Probably not his finest work there.

That's right. I forgot that part. The clip shows Orr after they win and he's looking in the stands for his father and Shatner (his character is only a little full of himself) says Orr was looking for him not his father. Funny stuff.

Ya, now it reminded me of the clip on Sportscenter. It said Shatner gave him hos lucky jock or something like that .

Second place is only first place of the losers.

That's funny WIllus! There must be some hockey fans in the writer's staff on that show...or maybe it's Shatner...because a few years ago they did a story that mirrored the Bertuzzi incident to a T. Very interesting. I can't recall how that episode ended though. I think the "bertuzzi type player" ended up paying out a small fortune. Ya, Boston Legal is a very good show. I haven't watched it in a few years now though.....too much TV in my life!
