What are some good non-time based hockey stats to judge individual player performance, and/or team performance?

I would be interested in reading your opinions, and if possible the reason why. I would also prefer if the stats were either observable stats or calculated off using observable stats, but also wouldn't mind to see some creative stats.

I am not necessarily looking for only the best stat, or the most creative stats either. Id be curios to read opinions on why recording basic stats like shots/face offs..etc are beneficial to record also.
