I just wanted to know, is Forsberg planning to retire or something? I'm sure a lot of teams have offered him contracts so why won't he sign. Is he gonna wait for an offer from a team that has a chance at the stanley cup? If anybody knows what happened to him I want to know.

What I heard most recently is that Forsberg is still skating with MODO in Sweden. He is still working he foot and seeing how things feel. He has not ruled out a 07/08 comeback, but it supposedly a 50/50 between this season and September.

However, part of his big thing is a 3 year contract if he signs this year. He wants two more years after this season at least.

I'm sure that which ever GM lands him, there will be some health related out clauses on the deal and/or some pretty good insurance.

If Forsberg does land back in Colorado, I could reasonably see Mr. Sakic return for next season.

Quote from NHL Numbers.com.

NOTE: NYR appears to be over the Upper Cap Limit. This is due to the fact that the bonuses are taken into account during calculations. If bonuses are not achieved, the cap hits are decreased and therefore NYR may not be over the cap limit. If all players end up achieving all of their bonuses, the overage will get tacked on to next year's cap hit.

I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

The new CBA has the cap but the fact is you can still go over it. You just end up paying a tax. You think the Rangers ownership really cares?

The rumoured places are Ottawa and Vancouver because of fellow countrymen and friends Alfredsson and Naslund. Either way, its all speculation.

Ottawa has been interested in Forsberg all through the summer. Murray went on record saying to Forsberg that they have $3 million left to spend and it's Forsberg's if he wants it.

Speaking of which, how can NYR get Forsberg?? They are at $51.125 million. Isn't that right at or just barely under the cap?? NYR doesn't have the means to get Forsberg.

I'm justs reciting what I read last week end. Dallas and Philly with COL and OTT in the mix as well. COL and OTT have the most money left to spend.

If you are under the age of 15, please do some research before you make a post about anything pre-1997.

Ottawa is interested in him? We know who first in their division for sure now.

Surely I'm not the only one who has heard that the Sens have shown a lot of interest in Forsberg. I think it would be a good fit, because Ottawa is one of the few teams that wouldn't really miss him too much when he sustains his next injury.

The Oil WILL make the playoffs.

Forsberg is all about his personal well-being and health this year. Its somethin he should have done a while ago. He waited to long to attempt to heal up. He will not return to the NHL ranks unless he believes he can finish out the season healthy and in top form.

As far as I've heard, no Forsberg until after the New Year. He's going to be a hired gun (Rumour has it Colorado is the most likely of destinations) for a team down the stretch run. My feeling is the Rangers will attempt to snag him. They seem to be the "Yankees" of the NHL. Its a shame buying doesn't equate to winning eh?

As I posted in a different forum, the latest rumor I read was that he is shooting for Nov 15. He has been skating with Modo in Sweden and is supposedly feeling good.

Front runners I hear are Dallas, who sent the GM and Special Adviser Brett Hull to Sweden for a face to face, and Philly.

I personally think we won't see him until after Christmas, but I have been wrong once or twice before in my life too.

Last I heard, he was healing from surgery, listening to offers.

I'm guessing that he's waiting to see how the season plays out, and then he'll be a hired gun on a team that has a legitimate shot at the Cup.

He must know he can't handle a full season in the NHL anymore. If nothing else, he can always stay in Sweden and play for his dad or something. That's no-hit hockey over there.
