Alexander Daigle is my pick.
After playing in the NHL, it's hard to watch hockey games. |

Kovalchuk- Hossa Lecavelier- St. Louis and Prospal Crosby- Malkin Ovechkin- Nylander and Semin Iginla- Tanguay Zetterberg- Datsyuk Alfredsson- Heatley Sundin- Well, nobody Mike Richards- Briere
Then Thornton- Setoguchi???????? Michalek???????

Posted - 12/03/2007 : 12:15:57 Sundi is single-handedly carrying the maple leafs this season. Whenever they need a big goal, he either gets it or sets it up.
Can't say I agree that he's overated.

Can't remember if he's in the HOF yet or not, but yeah - soft, soft, soft. A bum, in my mind. Obviously he had skills back in the day - but WAY too overrated, IMO. |

Posted - 12/02/2007 : 18:34:48 Kovalchuk will slow down. Either him or Hossa, which will mean him. Not incredibly, but enough to give Crosby advantage.
Iggy will keep his pace in the long run. Crosby will exceed it.
I don't know if I'd put money on Vinny slowing down enough to give Crosby number one by season's end. He might surprise us.

nashvillepreds |
Posted - 12/02/2007 : 18:29:18 He was 12 points behind Crosby at the all-star break. Crosby isn't even in first! Crosby has to catch Lecavelier before Thornton can catch him.

nashvillepreds |
Posted - 12/02/2007 : 18:21:43 He's actually sitting at 28 points. Thornton was another guy who didn't play with the player you mentioned the whole season, he only played with him most of the first half and some of the second half.

Posted - 12/02/2007 : 18:15:17 Yes. Because Thronton produced when Cheechoo was able to finish off his plays. Perfect example of someone who needs support.

Savrd only played with Kessel ha;f the season last year and same with Sturm.
Crosby might get about 110 points this season. Joe thornton challenged him last year after only having about 60 points after the all-star break.

Posted - 12/02/2007 : 18:09:26 Nash, you're a numbers guy.
Savard is a point per game player this season. Crosby isnt gonna hit last years totals.
Crosby has Malkin. Savard has Sturm and Kessel.
The support isn't what makes them. I'm telling you. They'll still be where they were last yer. Their linemates will have more points than last year's, though.

Posted - 12/02/2007 : 18:07:24 Crosby was on his own last season. Savard was on his own last season. Malkin does help him though, it got him out of his little drought at the beginning of the season didn't it?

Not saying Malkin completes Crosby but now Crosby finally has somebody on his line that can finish off his plays instead of Armstrong or Recchi

Posted - 12/02/2007 : 17:30:50 The Crosby is overrated thing is garbage. Th kid had 100+ in his first to years, was the MVP of his second year and is consistently in the top 5 in league scoring.
Crosby has no one to play with. Malkin isn't on his line. Staal isn't on his line. I think he has Recchi and some pylon. And he's still up in the top 5. Is that overrated to you?? |

Posted - 11/28/2007 : 14:09:14 I highly doubt anybodo over 50 who has never played hockey can even hold a stick correctly.
Blake performing by himself, well I woyuldn't really call what he's doing now performing. Didn't Sundin also not score last year for like 20 games or something? And doesn't Sundin get a lot of shots as well.
As for the performing by himself commnet though, he's been doing it his whole career. who was he with last year, Yashin? Yet he still scored 40 goals and played in the all star game.

Posted - 11/28/2007 : 10:32:25 To be over-rated you have to be rated in the first place. Unless you love or hate the leafs you are wondering who this Antropov guy is people are talking about and why people care about a guy who has 1 goal in his last 12 games...
If you want to find an over-rated player on Toronto try Jason Blake. Last year he played on a 'more skilled' line and now that he is being forced to perform practically on his own in Toronto he has not been able to. I am not trying to be mean here and did not forget about what he has had to go through but when you are 5th in the league with 110 shots on net -and only have 2 goals to show for it... well lets just say that I am fairly confident that the average person over the age of 50 who has never played hockey in their life could beat a 1.8% shooting average with any goalie in the league. |

Most people already know he isn't leading scorer material, I think a lot of people got caught up with him for a bit when he was 3rd in league scoring and 5th in points.
