Joe Thornton's hit last night on Hal Gill was not even close to being from behind and definitely did not justify a 5 minute major and game misconduct. I can see a 2 minute penalty for boarding at the very most. Very weak call.

It was 3/4 from behind. 2 minutes would have been sufficient to keep the powers that be satisfied. 4 would have been overkill and a match was rediculous.

Agreed. Intensity should not be penalized like that, and that hit was far from dangerous.
