I have to applaud Simon Gagne for turning down the "C" in Philadelphia. For some reason teams continue to make their best player captain when skill has nothing to do with leadership. Derian Hatcher has been a captain before, has won a Stanley Cup and knows what it takes to win. I'm not saying Gagne is not a winner as he won an Olympic gold medal, but he probably made the right choice. With so many veterns on that team it would be tough for a 25 year old kid to take charge.
