SuperSakic, he would have done amazing in the skills compeition, in the game itself I have my reservations...
In any case, he should have replaced Markov, with Rafalski in to fill. But Markov deserves the spot more than Kovalev whether he is better or not.
Of course, Rafalski deserves it more than Markov..
Habs get number 25 this year
markov is in the east,, rafalski in the west ,,,, you couldn;t have replaced markov with rafalski... at least thats what i think you were trying to say.... and i think you could have made a case for kovy in the allstar game his points total is nothing to snubbb this year,,,, though im not saying he should have been there but if he was he would have deffinetly earned his spot,,,, this year..... also i have had the privilage of meeting kovy and his wife a few times my job permits me to meet lots of hockey player and gives me a chance to actually talk to em,,,, and i wouldn't say kovy is heartless i d say he just does what hes gotta do hes a very laid back guy hes happy with what hes done and doesn;t seem to feel he needs to prove anything to anyone

It takes more than talent to be in the NHL...

Posted - 01/29/2008 : 21:25:10 No doubt he is a GREAT talent and those moves are sick but mostly irrevelant thats why I believe the biggest talent is Ovechkin
Just a sample of his skill no its not shots on one knee from blue line its shootout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25t66BThu3g&feature=related |

Posted - 01/28/2008 : 07:37:35 Those were some sick, mad, and ridonkulous moves! This just proves my point that they should have had him in the all-star game. |

Ellis or Mason?

Posted - 01/27/2008 : 08:03:57 I think he is just lazy. He's really done nothing with all that skill he has. It's an absolute shame that he doesn't care. And at this point, he isn't getting any younger. His whole career is a perfect example of the potential there, but didn't care to do it. |

Posted - 01/26/2008 : 15:31:13 Impressive, no doubt. Most talented, likely.
But let us not this confused with best PLAYER because Kovalev is not the best player and he does not aspire to be nor does he claim to be.
He is doing the job his team needs him to be doing, he is playing a much more team-oriented style of game, and it is reflecting in the standings (Habs are 2nd overall in points in the east as of last night I believe, not including last night's games)
But he needs to hone those skills and use them wisely and effectively, which he has done of late, to really be elite material. He has been at a point, and he still is. But I don't think he is HHOF material and I think he could have been.
