Crosby's out, Heatley's out, and the race is tight - REAL tight. In fact, I think this year will be one of the most exciting finishes in a long time, with quite a few contenders.

Time to put your money where your mouth is, and vote for the NHLer who will finish with the most points (goals and assists). Well, if you REALLY want to put your money where your mouth is, then comment with your pick, and let us know why!

My pick is Ovechkin, I think he is going to get a boost from what looks like a growing chemistry with the rookie Backstrom. Alfie will be right there, though.

Crosby will be back much earlier than that my friend. Guess not every day is fish day...

And here I was, about to ask you for next week's lottery numbers.

I'm hoping Crosby returns something like 2 games before the p.layoffs. With Crosby back, Malkin falls back to the Pens number 2 scorer. It lifts pressure off of him, but he's one of those guys that are better off on their own.

Ellis or Mason?

Nice call Nash, Malkin is now at 82 points! At this pace he is unstopable! One has to wonder how Crosby's return will affect him i.e. positively or negatively.

Cheechoo had one goal scoring season, why does everyone think he's a great scorer?

1 year, 50+ goals.

He may be a 20 goal scorer, about it.

Yeah! Pasty is my hero! Joe Thornton all the way. although unfortunately, i don't think he'll be able to pull it off unless Cheechoo pulls his socks up and starts scoring again. My vote will have to be Ovechkin

I hate to say it, I ecpect Malkin's numbers to drop with the return of Crosby. You never know. History likes to keep a poker face and trick us time and time again, but yet, I say something has to give. I think I might dish off Malkin for say, Datsyuk, and see if the deal falls through.

I agree with pensfan Malkin is tearing it up and he will take it in my opinion.

Question should be "How many goals will Ovechkin win by?"

No contest what so ever

Hate to break it to you, but he wears 11.

I think Ovechkin will. He has been on fire and rookie Nicklas Backstrom has really been helping him for that. Unless injuries happen there is no reason why he shouldn't win it.

EVGENI MALKIN!

He is on a tear of late without Crosby and can score or be a playmaker. Only three points back of Ovechkin and has a much better supporting cast. It will be a close race between him and unfortunately Alfredsson and Spezza.

If him and Crosby can build more chemistry than I believe he will win the Art Ross

Alfie was tied with far fewer games played. Ovechkin might be the better of the two, but that is another topic which I won't deal with in this thread. Alfie will have much better chances of picking up the Art Ross.

The thing is, no one has the support Alfredsson does. I would not be surprised if the Ottawa top line finished 1-2-3 in scoring. When they play together they are ridiculous! An average of five points each in their first game back together. Better players might exist in the NHL, but none that play together. I'm going to go with number 12, Daniel Alfredsson.

With Heatley out, Crosby out, Alfreddson injured off and on with his hip, Iginla sluming in his last 7 games (goaless) i shall vote for Lecavlier.

I wanted to vote for Alfredsson but I just heard he has a hip injury. They didn't say how serious but I am going with Ovie because of it.
