I am a relatively new player to the Vancouver hockey scene and am frustrated with trying to find an appropriate place to play. Despite the sheer number of rinks in the area, and the supposedly overwhelming number of active participants in the sport, I have yet to find anywhere whe I can just drop in and play some pick up hockey. Every other sport in the region allows for drop in participants however hockey seems to be the only one where you must join an organized league or know of a group of people who play regularly in order to play on a regular basis. I just want to play.

I don't know where in Vancouver you live, but check out Great Pacific Forum in Delta Sun, Mon, Fri. They always have pick then. And, the players are pretty good. I'm new also, and it's great to learn with better players around you. Or check out Planet Ice in PoCo Sat, Sun.

I think you've come to the right place. Do a search for games in the vancouver BC region. I think there are a dozen or so regular pick-up hockey games in the area.
