If you have a chance tonite, watch the Sabes national anthem singer. He's pretty badass....along the same lines as the Ottawa guy (except the Ottawa guy is dressed way cooler).

actually most of the canadian ask why do the french in quebec province (like me) took the anthem and "translate" it to french, but actually they are all mistaken, we wrote it in french first (im proud of it) then you did transaltein english

The fat guy who sings for the Nucks started that back in 2002 or something...NOT the oilers....everyone thinks the Oil started that, but it was started here in Vancouver

If I lived closer to NY I'd be a season ticket holder for sure. And I know the words to 'O Canada'...sort of.

Yeah, that's probably it Beans. Buffalo's what, a half-hour away from Toronto? It's pretty close to the border, so Canadians come on in for the games. Now if I ever see a game in Canada I'm gonna yell the Star Spangled Banner at the top of my lungs, lol.
Beans15 Posted - 04/26/2007 : 08:16:09
I think it's only in Buffalo. Does it have something to do with the proximity to the Canadian Border and that meaning there are a lot more Canadians in the stands than in other rinks??
bablaboushka Posted - 04/26/2007 : 08:07:39
They weren't doing that in Nashville. I don't know why they did in some cities but not others.

That just goes to show you how passionate us Canadians are about hockey. When I first saw that it sent a shiver down my spine to know that those fans were singing that loud just over a hockey game. WoW I would be pumped up if I was an Oiler playing in that game

Forecheck+Backcheck= Paycheck!!!

Mark Donnely(sp) started that in vancouver a couple years ago. Still you hear about how patriotic the americans are but we can be pretty patriotic as well, yeah saku that was pretty cool when the stars fans yelled "Stars in their games.

I have often admired the Canadians for their participation in the anthem. If only Americans were not so complacent!

Yeah I know I love when they do that because it is very loud and everyone is doing it and it's funny becuase they're all on the same beat.
Mikhailova Posted - 04/23/2007 : 13:00:27
Nice video! Not that it inspires patriotic feelings in me, but for you Canadians it's really something eh?

Anyone have a link to when the fans at the 1972 Summit Series sang 'O Canada'? I've heard it was supposed to be exceptionally loud since that was a great victory for Canada.

I hate the Oilers, but that was pretty cool. To be an Oiler then would have been pretty awesome.
