Posted - 06/12/2006 : 09:28:39 Over the weekend CBC was showing Stanley Cup games from the 80's. One was game seven of the 1987 Edmonton and Philly series. What a different game. No ads on the boards really stand out, and so does the flow which seems a bit slower. Clogging up the nuetral zone hadn't been invented yet and defensemen constantly collapsed in their own zone allowing for plenty of offense.

The Boston game ended up 6-3 and was full of offense without the bad penalty calls that we have to suffer through now. It would be nice if the CBC played Stanley Cup winning games over the summer.
