lately their have been a few threads discussing the "CODE" of fighting in hockey, especially since the death of young Don Sanderson (my sympathies) here is a blog written by George who many believe to be the heavyweight king of the NHL, in the middle he puts into point form what he believes to be the code of fighting in hockey i found the article very interesting givent the tragic events of recent weeks,,

Well done Pasty, Laraque has long been a respected enforcer in the league by players and fans. His blog shows why. It is a shame he can no longer do it because of Hab policy. His book would make a great read.
Its posts like this made me become a member, thanks Pasty.

He is a much better writer than he is a hockey player. A guy like him has no place in the league anymore. He can barely skate. He would make a good announcer though, he is personable and well spoken.

Anybody ever wonder why there is no fighting in the playoffs? It's because it doesn't help win games. There is usually more hitting in the playoffs but no fighting.

Can't wait for his book! aha This guy really gives us the reality of it all, tells it exactly how it is and not how people that are not in the position portray it.

I think he should have included himself as the best in the east. I don't recall him ending up on the wrong end of too many fights!

Definitely my favorite quote
"If you really want to know who the toughest guys are, just ask the players who play the game. Ask the guys who do the job, who actually fight and know their stuff. Not some know-it-all couch potato guy, frustrated about life who just likes criticizing everything and especially tough guys."

You can replace tough guy with superstar and the sentence would work too.

Well done Georges, but too much "lol" in the blog.

That was one of the most insightful hockey blogs I've ever read. I've never heard such honesty from a player who is STILL playing the game. More than a few secrets and gems in there...like "A coach will never tell you to fight someone -- you should know your job and know when to do it. But they will tell you when NOT to fight, and sometimes that's a smart decision. Trust me on that!"

I can't wait for his book after retirement. I've always respected Laraque (I love the fighting aspect of the game) but I respect him even more now.

You guys have to read this blog. It's long but worth it. Thanks for the link Pasty.
