A great pick up for any team i really thought Calgary was going to be his destination or maybe even a return to Motor city but lets face going back to where he began his illustrious career is a great fit as well i personally would take a guy like shanny on my team anyday of the week its a shame it took him so long to find a home,,,

excellent pick up for NJ and excellent way of staying out of the spot light mr. shanahan while doing your business. a class act, and a great player UNLIKE the sundin soap opera. shanahan did not start a bidding war by leaking just enough information to the media once is a while. he went along doing his business until the deal he liked finally came, even it it meant not playing at all. UNLIKE sundin, where he had to wait and see where teams were at and how close they were to a cup before making a decision. what a difference!!! i will bet you that shanahan will make more of an impact in one month than sundin will over the remaining year. |

Why Calgary??? His whole thing during his free agency was to stay as close to his NY home as possible. |

finally someone picks him up good guy and still a threat on the ice at his age I hope he does very well and makes the rangers look stupid |

Awesome pickup, this team is very underrated. He will make them a strong team, pure scoring winger. Good job NJ.
