Alex Kovalev has been selected to captain the eastern conference, this is bound to create some controversy since many believe he should not be a part of the game, any thoughts?

My only problem with all of this debacle over the Canadiens voted to the starting line-up and Kovalev being selected captain is.... since it is Montreals 100th year in the league and as they are 1 of the most storied franchises in NHL history, why didn't they set-up a game as Montreal vs. the NHL all-stars in Montreal.I think that would have been a better way to celebrate their 100th year.By the way the Canadiens would have been slaughtered by the all-stars because they suck! |

I knew this was going to create some fun. I'm not sure if he is the senior member on the team, but to me, its just because the game is in Montreal. It really is meaningless. |

As for Kovalev, I don't know the guy personally or as a fan of the Canadians. However, I have heard a lot of good things about his leadership and he is a good player. So I have no problem with it.
