Posted - 02/27/2009 : 15:48:43 Ok so i very quickly made a team of all time greats all of which retired all of which brilliant hockey players. My question is do you think you can create a team useing only current NHLers at their current capacity of play (meaning, if you name say Brendan Shanahan you take him as he is now in the NHL and not in his prime) and beat this all time all star squad I have assembled in a 7 game series? (Remember this is about YOUR TEAM and your current NHL stars in their current level of play trying to beat my super stars all playin at their best, not how my team of retired players should have this guy on it instead of that guy)
My team
Gretzky-Kurri-Francis Dionne-Messier-Yzerman Lemieux-Jagr-Esposito Trottier-Hull-Robitaille
Bourque-Orr Harvey-Shore Robinson-Stevens
Roy Sawchuk
(Jagr is no longer in the NHL which makes him eligible for my team and not yours)

Posted - 02/28/2009 : 10:38:27 First off, the current NHL couldn't yet hold the jocks of most of these former greats. Secondly I assumed that if a guy was injured he's not available ie: Sakic
Forwards: Ovechkin - Thornton - Malkin Heatley - Crosby - Iginla Kovalchuk - Datsyuk - Hossa Zetterberg - Lecavalier - Bossy (Nash)
Defence: Lidstrom - Green Chara - Phaneuf Niedemayer - Boyle (Rafalski)
Goaltenders: Luongo Brodeur (Kiprusoff) |

Kinda not fair if they are playing in their prime and the guys now play as is? I mean you get to pick the greatest of the greats based on their prime and we get to pick guys were not sure how great they will be. |
