Posted - 04/28/2009 : 07:47:18 So Rick Nash is a 40+ goal scorer, on a Blue Jackets team with no other "scorers". Whenever Nash represents Canada on the world stage, he plays with some of the best in the world, and usually leads the tournament in scoring.
So to the question...If Rick Nash had another scorer, or playmaker on his team (i.e. Ovechkin, Datsyuk, Iginla etc.), how many points could he have?
This year, Nash had 40G - 39A - 79 PTS in 78 games, playing with R.J. Umberger who had 46 PTS this year, all do respect to R.J.

Absolutly agree, I cannot believe they were handled so easily in the 1st round by Detroit. If was going to pick a line mate to push Nash to elite status which I believe he already is I would choose Heatly. I am surprise Columbus didn't try for this when they traded Pascal. Do you think they woulda made the next round or taken a game or 2 if they had a game changer to play with Nash??? |

I agree MSC! I had the opportunity to watch Voracek here in Halifax(QMJHL), he was awesome! I think he'll be great in a year or two.
Right on, I used to go to every Mooseheads game I could. Voracek was definatly one of the most talented players to go through that system, and they've had a few good ones. |

Posted - 04/28/2009 : 14:53:40 Rick Nash is a player that can play every part of the game. He is skilled in so many ways and if he was playing with some of the best players in the NHL he would be the best.
The thing is this doesnt happen, You need to lead your team and he has enough around him. He could make Huselius a great player, maybe he would get 80 points. You have to influence the players around you to acheive greatness.
So I would figure he is a 90 point guy next season and if he steps it up and helps out his linemates a little more, and if they also step it up, he might even get 100+ points.
Ex-NHL, AHL and, OHL player. Black Hawks Devils Red Wings. Tim Higgins (career 78-89) Scored 59 points in my best season, I think I know hockey. |

Posted - 04/28/2009 : 09:22:07 I don't think you'll have to wait much longer then a year or two to find out. Columbus has been assembling a fairly impressive group of offensive players. Brassard, Voracek, and Filatov are going to be very exciting players and all have the potential to turn into somthing special. |
