I am an Ottawa Senators fan.

As a youngster, I grew up in a household of Canadiens fans. So naturally, I followed suite.

Then, as I became older, I discovered Raymond Bourque. My all-time favorite hockey player. There was just something about him, and then my true NHL following began.

The Sens formed in 1990, but did not begin play until 1992. At that time, I had no favorite team. I had abanondend that Habs, and just followed Mr. Bourque.

Around 1995, when I began following more hockey as I became a little older, at this time I was now 8 years old. I took to the Ottawa Senators. And, ever since I have been a fan.

Although a fan of the Sens, I still had to cheer for Bourque. And when he won the Stanley Cup, finally (much deserved,)with the Avs (and quite the Avs team at that,) I was never happier.

So although we have 0 Cups, I can't complain. Because Bourque has 1 atleast. :)

Hmm, a couple of surprises for me here.

I expected Toronto to be the runaway leader here, but I expected Edmonton to be up there with Calgary . . . surprising number of Canucks fans. I wonder where they go when the Leafs visit Vancouver?

Being an english language site, you know the Canadiens weren't going to be top three . . . if it was in french, it would be 95% habs fans. But the really, really big surprise for me is:

We have 5 Senator fans here?!? lol

There's more "Sens fans", but they want to see if the Leafs do beeter then the Senators before they declare their loyalty :)

The poll asked your favourite Canadian team so I voted for Toronto. The leafs are not my favourite team. No team ever in Canada or anywhere else for that matter will ever replace my mighty B's.

The problem with the Leafs, more specifically MLSE is that there is no true "owner" to pressure them to win. The Leafs are owned with shares and the main share holder is the Teachers Pension Plan. So technically, the Leafs are owned by a computer program, sadly.

If you remember the days of Steve Stavros, he was a great owner, was at every game, I had the pleasure of sitting beside him a few times (yes, he sat in the stands, with the fans, not a box), and wanted the team to win as much as you or me. They did, 1st in the East, couple 100+ point seasons, just a couple bad breaks in the playoffs. His death killed the Leafs too (selling of the assets to share holders, Teachers Pension Plan).

MLSE needs ownership, not a Board of Directors, we need someone to pressure them to make the right changes, not just change for the sake of change, fortunately, they lucked out and got a high priced GM that has some sense in him. Hopefully it saves the reputation of Tanenbaum and MLSE.

The situation the Leafs are in now is the exact situation the Toronto Raptors were in from 2001-2002 to 2006-2007 (Until MLSE hired Brian Colangelo as Pres. & GM).

Leaf fans do demand a good team, MLSE brass just doesnt listen...

Notice how only the Leafs' fans are still coming to this site to talk about hockey? lol...no Montreal, no Ottwawa....so does this mean Toronto (aside from being the best city in Canada lol), is also home to Canada'a favourite hockey team? :P haha

The results don't lie :D

without a doubt, Da LEAFS

The Passion That Unites Us All!! Go Leafs Go!! Can't wait 'till October, perhaps we will have both Schenn bros.

So wait, when Leafs' fans vote, we get criticized? Yet, when Habs fans vote that Price is god, or Komisarek is the next Orr, or that the Habs are the greatest thing to hockey, people say nothing? Face it boys a girls, Montreal accomplished sh't all last year, not to mention they pretty much showed that the entire team is filled with panzy's, so I will go to the ACC and support the team I've been supporting for as long as I can remember! Dumba** people....

P.S. GO LEAFS GO!!!

Like to see the look on the faces of the 11th place Habs next year, while the Leafs are in the playoffs, calling that right now!

But the leafs just got a new goalie coach (Francois Allaire), and he's supposed to be great...

No one ever said you had to like the current players on your team, at it's purest the loyalty is to the uniform and the city/state.
JOSHUACANADA Posted - 06/16/2009 : 10:45:14
Cant believe how many TO fans come out to vote. If there are that many of you, why dont you demand a good team. By the way every last one of you who voted TO is your favorite team would trade off every last one of your players (including the goalie coach)and have no loyalty to the players. Just a thought
Matt_Roberts85 Posted - 06/16/2009 : 08:08:59
i love how nobody has voted for ottawa, lol

There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E".

This poll might be the only thing the Leafs win this decade... lol (when your team is down and out you just gotta roll with the punches)
Guest8241 Posted - 06/15/2009 : 10:26:39
