Has anyone else ever noticed that whenever both teams get into a scrum on the ice, the commentators start talking about how the ref's will take an extra player from one team to send both teams a message that this type of post-whistle play won't be tolerated, and sure enough, the ref's do it.

But has anyone ever noticed that the ref's ALWAYS take the extra player from the team with the lead at the time? It happens in almost every game, but it happen last night in the Canucks/Oilers game. Anyone else notice this?
