Jordan Leopold and 2nd round pick for Tanguay and conditional second round pick in 2007 or 08.
I'm liking this deal for the Flames. They need some serious scoring punch and Tanguay can do that! Since the Flames defense is so deep already this is a great move. As for the Avs...don't care.

I think this was a great deal for the Flames. They badly needed someone to play with Iginla and Tanguay can score. I still think they need a true #1 center to play between them. The Avs let go of Tanguay due to cap issues as they hope to sign Blake. I would have rather kept Tanguay and let Blake go. |

This isn't a very good deal for the avalanche. Tanguay is a top forward who is just entering his prime. Leopold is a decend d-man but not on the same level. The Avs must have been trying to save room under the cap. |
