I HATE CROSBY |
Posted - 11/04/2007 : 11:11:42 I think everyone who goes on this site should march down to TSN and impeach Gord Miller.....Ya TSN shows a lot of hockey during the week, but with Miller doing the play-by-play, it's like being with the ugly girl at the dance......I usually just turn it off it's so boring. He doesn't have an INTENSE voice. It sounds like he was castrated..I hate it so much!!! What makes it worse is that TSN has the great Chris Cuthbert sitting around most of the time waiting to do a god-awful CFL game...Cuthberts the greatest hockey guy ever!!!!!! But I digress..I just really hate gord miller.

Posted - 03/10/2010 : 11:55:54 I actually like Gord Miller's play by play. Has anyone had the pleasure of their ears bleeding listening to Peter Loubardias during Flames games on Sportsnet? Seems like a nice enough guy, but...terrible just terrible. How about Gene Principe's witty personality? He cracks me up sometimes with his play on words.
When Hell freezes over, I'll play hockey there too. |

Posted - 02/26/2010 : 09:47:09 Matt, Cole has always sucked. I didn't like his old sidekick either.
You may have just gotten comfortable with him because he did the Leafs games for so long.
But as far as Dean Brown goes, I perfer to hear the Ottawa-Montreal games on RDS. "Et LA BUUUUUUUUUUUUT!!!" |

I don't mind Gord Miller, he isn't all that bad when you consider some of our other options.
McGuire is an idiot, if I heard him talk about the 'science experiment' one more time last night, I think I would have put my foot through the TV.
I swear Bob Cole drinks on the job.
But I still say the worst is that godawful homer Dean Brown. EVERYTHING he says is put into a positive context for the Sens whether they were responsible or not.
That 'science experiment' crap had me throwing up. Im with you on thta one Odin, I was yelling at mcguire to stfu about the godamn science experiement.
Bob Cole is old, give the guy a break, he is easily one of the best of all time. Dean Brown is the biggest homer in the NHL, if you listened to him, the sens win the cup every year and never have a bad shift
There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E". |

Posted - 02/24/2010 : 07:59:39 The commentators, analysts and insiders are there to facilitate the game watching process, supply information that compliments the experience, and bring those at home as close to the feeling of being at the center of the action than they possibly can. In short, pump up the excitement from a fan's perspective.
How's TSN doing in this department? Great. They bring up the topics fans want to hear about, they present the prevalent views as well as those from others' perspective (including the IIHF, coaches, players, etc.), and they fill in the background of the general "hockey story".
If the TSN crew was simply restating the traditional hockey opinions, how exciting would it be? Not very. Who wants to hear old news that they already know? Not me.
Good job, TSN. |

Posted - 02/23/2010 : 19:13:20 Joe Bowen always calls an exciting game....tv or radio. In fact if he's not calling the game on tv, sometimes I mute it and turn on my radio just to listen to him. |

Posted - 02/20/2010 : 19:32:06 I definitely agree with Chris Cuthbert, he's always been one of my favorites.
I do like Gord Miller though...but the way you feel about Miller, i feel the exact same way about Jim Hughson. Pretty much everyone i know is a big Jim Hughson fan, but i've just never liked the way the guy calls games, find him too boring. |

Posted - 02/20/2010 : 18:09:11 I'd invite any of you to watch an American broadcast of basically any NHL game before you complain about any of the announcers mentioned. Boring doesn't begin to describe the drab awfulness of people who don't even understand the basic rules of the game they are announcing.
I caught the American feed of a Dallas/LA game and had to turn it off after 5 mins. If the NHL really wants to grow the sport in the South of the US please actually recruit some half-decent commentators that don't themselves sound bored during the broadcast please. |

Posted - 11/11/2007 : 18:12:24 I agree. Pierre gets a bad rap. Don't love him, but don't hate him like some people do.
The Oil WILL make the playoffs. |

Posted - 11/11/2007 : 15:42:23 I don't like Miller, but the biggest joke is Pierre Mcguire. That's why he's the monster of the game what is that anyway.
losers since 67 will have to wait another year |

Posted - 11/11/2007 : 15:19:07 Good point with Miller. Just this past week I was thinking he is pretty mean too with the shots he takes at Pierre, Miller sounds bitter. |

Posted - 11/11/2007 : 14:34:40 I actually don't have a problem with Greg Millen. However, I do agree that Gord Miller sounds like a little boy pinching his ball sack. I think the 'Harry Neale-Bob Cole' combo is the best, but Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson are pretty solid to. |

Could not agree with this observation more...Greg Millen - how is that guy still on the air? |

Posted - 11/04/2007 : 15:19:25 I think Greg Millen is the worst by far. |

Posted - 11/04/2007 : 13:55:54 no no no.... for anyone who watched HNIC last year you are crazy not to say that drew remedea or what ever is by far the worst in the history of broadcast...... i would rather have john madden color for me because he probably knows more about hockey than remedea |

Posted - 11/04/2007 : 12:40:46 I would prefer to listen to any of those guys then Bob Cole. Because when I listen to them I actually hear what's going on in the play. |

Posted - 11/04/2007 : 12:35:38 Gord Miller alright, nothing spectacular. But Cuthbert, that guy is awesome. They definatly have to put him in over Miller. |

Posted - 11/04/2007 : 11:27:24 I don't think there is anything wrong with Miller.
After playing in the NHL, it's hard to watch hockey games. |
