I have been watching this kid from the time he arrived and I think this guy is the real deal. He has all the tools, hockey smarts, speed, passing ability and a knack for skating his way out of trouble. The only two things he could use is a little more strength and NHL level experience. I thought it was grossly unfair when someone in Europe compared him to Lidstrom which gave people the wrong impression but I am seeing where the comparison came from. It is going to take a little time but I believe the Leafs are definitely one step up on their rebuilding plans with this guy.

GUEST 1466: Nobody said he was going to be a savior. I just think he is a very good player and that I like what I see in him. I don't know what you are running on about or what on earth your problem is? If nobody is interested in my post then what difference does it make to you. Let me answer the question for you......you are obviously of small mind and probably know very little of Stralman. You hate the Leafs who are obviously no threat to you and you have nothing going on in your life so you just decided to strike out at me for something to do. Try to lighten up a little and try to enjoy your life. Your negativism isn't doing anyone any favors and if you have a problem with my posts you can very simply ignore them.

Sheesh, losen up. If you don't like the forum, stay away from it, end of story. Frankly, i'm tired of hearing about the oilers and canucks winning the cup too.

To stay on topic though, in the games I've seen Stralman play in, he has been really good. He's fast, has good passing abilities, has an amazing view of the ice and he's always open.He should become a well rounded, solid blue-liner. I don't think he can carry the leafs to a cup though.

Ellis or Mason?

a ha hahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahaa, oh good god. oh man. god thats funny.

excuse me while i laugh at the comedy called the toronto maple leafs and the majority of their fans.

havent made the finals in 40 years (let alone won a cup), and one little guy named stralman is gonna come in and be the cure.

listen buddy we dont care anymore. southern ontario and toronto definitely cares but the rest of the country is sick of hearing about this dogs*** team. thats why you get three replies, two your own, about a stupid topic on stralman. you guys have been talking about saviors for almost half a century now. give it up. youll never win. quit taking up so much airtime!!!! and you are insluting the rest of us canadians in doing so.

just enough leaf crap alright? its pitiful.

What do you mean in two years Pucknuts? We are going to win it this year. No doubt in my mind. LOL...........I really have no comment about Kulemin other than he looks pretty good on the clip on YouTube but as already discussed, the Russian League is a far cry from the NHL. The only other thing that I heard was the Dave King comment about him being the real deal. We all know that "talk is cheap"........there have been many Russian so called phenoms that have turned out to be less than great in our league. As for Stralman, I have been watching him since he arrived over here and can't say enough about him to date. I watched the pre season games and quite a few Marlie games on Leafs TV and he has very impressive skills. He has got this old bird excited and I am starting to figure out I am not alone. This guy can flat out fly and has superior passing skills and he seems to make a high percentage of smart plays most all of the time. Excuse me for my exuberance but the prospect of this guy being a great player has me pretty excited.

Between Nikolai Kulemin, and Anton Stralman it looks like the Leafs will win the Cup in two years...

Well that is not going to happen.

There is not one player that can save the Leafs. Stralman is a fine young player, as you said he needs to develop, and add some strength. He definitely has a bright future but with all the high paid D men they have he will be in the line-up but not in their top pairing, so until Toronto can move some of its expensive dead wood the team will stay as it is...

Of coarse you know that this means war!

Gees, I was hoping some others might share an opinion on this guy be it good or otherwise. It is tough being excited about something all by yourself?
