The long-awaited celebration has now begun. A new standard of forum contribution has been set. Barriers have been broken, windows shattered, arguments refuted and as the ultimate achievement, minds changed. 1000 posts is a new level of achievement for this forum, but now the path has been paved for up-and-comers in the Pickup Hockey Forum world. The first journey has been a bumpy one and smoothing the way for others has been hard work, but seeing others follow in your footsteps is its own reward.
Now some people, most likely rookies, might think “Who does this guy think he is?” or “Why is he making such a big deal about a silly post?”. And well, those are quite valid questions so I will dignify them with my answers: I am the one and only Babs, Bababalabosha, Bubbadooshka…and all the 3452 other different names I’ve been called. Bablaboushka comes from a random word I blurted out while playing street hockey, originally “Babala-boushaka”. Given its lack of “sayability”, and the fact that it sounded like an animal’s name from The Lion King, I decided to shorten it to make it sound more aesthetically pleasing. The end result was “Bablaboushka” (pronounced Bablaboushka) and the rest as we know it is history…
The purpose of making this post such a big deal is to attract a little bit of attention to myself, I won’t sugar-coat that. Everyone likes the limelight every once in a while and this is a perfect chance for me to rant about anything seen as I can count on getting a lot of views. So here’s how this is going to work:
This post is my 1000th but as part of the celebration, my rants will go beyond that mark. This post will be the Starting Line for the rest of my rants. At the end of this Introduction, you will see a link to my first rant. My rants will be locked topics in their appropriate forums. At the end of each rant will be another link to the next rant in the series. It will continue like this until you reach my last rant, where the link at the bottom will redirect you to this post where you may make any comments you wish.
So technically, this celebration is like walking through the “PickupHockey Museum at Bablaboushka”. Taking comments from each topic or grouping each individual topic inside an already-crowded forum will make this too sloppy. This way, it’s very organized for people to read through. Also, seen as any rant you don’t read will be marked as read next time you log on, you may lose track of where you were in the museum. Instead, you can just follow the links until you reach the rant you left last time.
As it stands now, I have not completed the displays in the museum but they should be completed sometime this weekend. I am simply announcing the grand opening, at a TBD date. I have quite a few rants lined up so stay tuned cause she’s gonna be good!!!

Shouldn't that be 20543rd version of this?
Anywho...I'm coming up on 1000 too now. Gotta think of something to do...either I'll post some of my Photoshopped hockey pictures (other than the ones in "Design your own logo") or maybe some bad jokes haha. Or maybe I'll get lucky and my 1000th can be a Sabres SCOREBOARD against the Leafs |
