Posted - 10/03/2006 : 11:42:29 I can't understand this one. Cloutier is getting 2.5 million this year. He is notorious for getting 30 win seasons before getting injured in time for the playoffs. Why sign him for $3.1 over two years? If the Kings think that he can get back to the 30 win mark, or even better - lets say 35, then sure he is worth 2.5 - 3 mill. But there is no way he will get those wins on the Kings. I think they overpaid for a guy who will get 25 wins tops.

Posted - 04/13/2007 : 10:31:29 It would be funny that all of a sudden Cloutier becomes a 2nd Miikka Kiprusoff and leads the Kings to a plaoff berth.
But by the way his career is going i don't think its gonna happen.
He should be payed 1.5mil tops and play as Burke's backup.

Posted - 03/11/2007 : 18:11:13 cloutier has never been a very good goalie, he only seemed good becuase the canucks had a great team for those few years. Sure he's not that bad, but if the nucks had a better goalie you're looking at a cup contending team. I know they have luongo now, but they did loose some pieces to their puzzle since then.

Of any team he's played on, this should have been a team for him to prove himself on. He's now in LA where his chances of doing very well are even lower. He's way past his "prime" (which never really was that good) and is not starting-goalie caliber anymore, if he ever really was.

Posted - 10/03/2006 : 12:20:16 $3.1 million is cheap for a starting goalie. Now that he is out of Vancouver he has the chance to show everyone that he is capable.
