I don't know about you but I'm getting my butt kicked in my hockey pool and it's because for the first time I didn't pick Mario. Why? Because he always gets injured! I picked him last year and sure enough he only played 30 games all season. Sure his points per game were good but I thought I could do better this year. So this year I figured he'd be out by Christmas so I didn't pick him. Sure I'm losing my pool right now, but I'm sure he'll get knocked out soon!

Whats with that Admin. The pens really are falling hard. Im not sure whether its the lack of talent outside of Mario or what but its hard to watch when your as big of a pens fan as myself. I just recently went down to Nashville to watch my pens play and they looked like a minor league team (loosing 6-0). I actually sent an email off to the penguins marketing cheif asking for a refund for the tickets and hotel i stayed in because of my severe disappointment with the preformance played. I got one of those generic emails back thanking me for my time and that they would address the problem. SURE THEY WILL! I think that this team is doomed finacially and in terms of recruitablity and thats what is causing thier terrible showing in the rankings.

Like Admin, I chose Mario last year in my pool and got decimated as a result. His PPG #'s you can never argue, but with the Olympics last year as well provided a huge distraction for a lot of the game's elite.

Thanks for the back up Coastie. I've noticed that he's starting to slip lately! The Penguins are falling fast and even Mario can't seem to fix it. We might see him give up for a bit now and take some time off to repair. Could happen???

If Mario took care of himself the way he is now, I'm sure he would have been even greater. The guy was a smoker who never worked out and practised occasionally and lightly at that. Even as injury prone as he may be, he'll still get more points than someone who you would pick in the later rounds of a pool anyway.

It's the rules! The boy has a good shot of playing 60 or 70 games this year because of the new rules. There are a ton of penalties being called and he's getting nothing but powerplay time! Plus there is less clutch and grab so he'll get 125 points for sure!
