Posted - 12/03/2011 : 16:50:26 Hey guys What's happening with Dubinsky? He only has 11 pts in 22 games, plays on the 3rd line with Sean Avery.... I don't understand, is he injured or something ? He gets about 12 min of TOI per game... What the ****? lol

Posted - 12/04/2011 : 14:18:53 nuxfan, i couldn't agree more. I guess i mistook what you wrote as i read it to mean that Dubinsky was pretty much untouchable when you said "I'm pretty sure the Rangers are not going to trade Dubinsky..."
As we all know, there really are NO untouchables, but i thought you were saying that there was pretty much no way they'd be dealing him, even if it were as a package to aquire someone as skilled as B. Ryan or even better? |

Nuxfan, i don't know if i can agree with that. Not to say i necessarily think they're looking to trade him, but i think if the right trade came along, he'd be gone. The Bobby Ryan trade was mentioned for example, and i think if it resulted in getting a guy of this calibre, the Rangers wouldn't hesitate to part with him as part of the deal.
OK, fair enough - if Bobby Ryan (or some other star player) is going to NY, then I suppose Dubinsky might be part of the package going back as a solid defensive forward. But in a Bobby Ryan-type deal, I would think most of the Rangers would be fair game at that point.
I believe the OP's premise was he might be moved because he's simply underachieving - which I don't think will happen. NYR just signed this guy to a brand new 4 year deal, and then 20 games into the season suddenly he's gotta go? His production, while not great, is close enough to his career numbers as to not be worried, and as ryan said, he's still playing hard, and doing all the right things. Its just a slump. |

Well I'm gonna get rid of him if his ice time doesn't improve. Will it? Maybe a trade? I like him and want to hang onto him but I need to know that there's a chance he will be playing regular minutes somewhere. Anybody got any insight? Just as an aside thought it was comical that he recently called Jody Shelly a "terrible," player (which is true) and now gets exactly 9:45 of ice time.

Posted - 12/03/2011 : 20:59:28 He's just been snake bitten offensively this season. He's healthy, and plays hard every night, but just can't seem to get anything going. The last couple weeks he's been playing on a checking line with Sean Avery & Brandon Prust. It's been a very effective trio, but so much more is expected from Dubinsky. He only played 9 minutes in tonights game! |
