Posted - 02/25/2009 : 04:32:42 I agree with Leigh - especially considering two things:
1. San Jose will win their division . . . well, they've already won it, actually. Anyways, point is - they will take it easy with their goalie, especially as the season is closing. Calgary, on the other hand, while having a decent lead themselves, are in no way safely in first, and will continue to play like it. With more to play for, you get a better chance at low scoring games/shutouts and wins.
2. The record - Kipper has a shot at it, and while I don't think Iron Mike will play him any more than he has to, he certainly won't rest him on the last night if he has a chance to break the record for most wins by a goalie. This alone is probably worth an extra 2-3 starts, hence, more chance at points.

Kipper is hockey pool gold! He may not have the best save percentage or GAA but he is always at the top of the wins/shutout categories. So assuming this is how our pool is configured then the answer is "no!" |
