the Oilers should start Markkanen for once he's only started 6 games this whole season. Roloson plays like 20 games then Markkanen gets like one start then it's back to Roloson. I think Markkanen should get to play once every 5-8 games for two reasons. 1) Roloson starts to suck after playing too many games maybe gets tired or something i don't know. 2) Markkanen is a solid goaltender and deserves to play more often.

A goalie of Luongo's caliber is paid a lot. Luongo's payed almost 7 million a year. Well, he's been living up to his paycheck this year. But about Markkanen, He's not nearly as solid as a starting goaltender. He's great for a backup, but he doesn't have the skills to be a good starting goaltender. Roloson isn't great, but he's all the Oilers have. He is overpaid though. He had a hot playoff time. So what? This season he's sucking.

Just because you have luongo doesn't mean Jussi or Dwayne suck.
Better than the nucks backup but your starter is better.
jbraiter Posted - 02/27/2007 : 16:20:56
I think they shouldnt start with any of them they need a better goalie

Go canucks
Myles06-07 Posted - 02/27/2007 : 16:06:38
Now I agree.
Start him.
Lowe basically made it to us that we werent going to make playoffs by that Smyth trade so I say give Markks some play-time.

Oh ya i meant that a goalie of Luongo's caliber deserves that much money aswell.
Beans15 Posted - 02/20/2007 : 17:14:39
Luongo is not 38 years old.

Jussi gets $850k/year and is a UFA at the end of the year.

I doubt he will be back. Dubnyk might get a shot as the back up next year.

Or last name of Luongo

so far not so much

Refresh my memory - didnt Roloson sign for first string $$$?

I think he did and he is one of many that the Kevin Lowe has rewarded (too much?) after the playoff run.

Ia gree that KEvin Lowe gave him to much money along with Shaun Horcoff And Fernando Pisani.

Go pens
Guest4040 Posted - 02/19/2007 : 15:38:24

Saku Steen Posted - 02/12/2007 : 07:30:11
He should start more but Roloson should have the number one spot.
saku11 Posted - 02/10/2007 : 19:55:43
ya the should let him play more he is a good backup and rolo is weak after a lot of games.

roloson is deffenatly showing weak signs this year hes got a .500 record wheras Markkanen has an above .500 record

CANUCKS RULE!!
Ripley Posted - 02/09/2007 : 15:24:37
he probably would play more if the Oil were doing better. I know it's an oxymoron but it's true. if they had more room to breathe he would get more starts but because they don't the coaches and management are under pressure to play their big guns ($) it takes big balls at this point in the season (or even 20 games ago) to pull your starter and run with your back up. Unless Roli gets injured that won't happen. sorry fellas.

Welcome to the forums Oil Fan (lol yet another Oiler fan) and i agreen every 7th game sounds good.

lyall Posted - 01/21/2007 : 20:14:14
Markkanen should started way more. I say at least once every 5 games. He just needs to be pulled if he lets in a couple softies. He doesn't bounce back too well.
-oil-country- Posted - 01/21/2007 : 20:03:23
not a starter but he is a quality goaltender and deserves more ice time.
semin-rules Posted - 01/21/2007 : 19:48:53
my opinion would be that they put markkanen as a starter because he shows way more talent then roloson
what you guys think?

~~~~~GO STARS~~~~~
I couldn't agree more! After that loss the other nght to the flames maybe we should be looking at gettin rid if him. He sure did let in some softies and didn't look like he was ready to play. Jussi should get more starts!!!
GO OIL!!! YA!!!
