Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?" |

Posted - 11/08/2013 : 22:45:31 umteman..... did that own goal you started this thread with foreshadow this one? Not sure you saw this one, but it's a beauty! Not directed at the net by a Canuck, but might have been by a ghost or something? Lol...

they're the Leafs; that tells you pretty much all you need to know how their season will go.

does that mean the weak goal let in by Fleury on the weekend tells us all we need to know about how the Pens playoffs will go?? Again?
probably

I hadn't seen the Wallin goal before. Just like the announcers, I really have no idea what he was trying to do there. He just shot it into his own net and that was that.
I saw the Vancouver Giants perform a keystone cops own goal a few years ago, very much like the Canucks, with the opposition not even in the zone. I believe it was in the last minute and tied up the game with them losing in OT. It was brutal, but unfortunately I couldn't find the footage. However I did find another awesome example from the Tri-City Americans. Check this one out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7jE77GHdZY
Statman, that one is awesome as well! Lol, makes the Canucks one look tame! I didn't wanna sound like a "homer" and claim the Canucks one too innocent, but really it wasn't that outrageous imo. These others shared here are FAR worse! The Wallin one is odd isn't it? At first i thought the defender slapped Wallin's stick forcing the pass back, but that wasn't the case? It looked like he was practicing for the first intermission "shoot the puck" contest where they board up most of the net? Lol... |

yeah, sure there have been a few worse than this, but I posted it right after watching it and basically still laughing about it and wanted to make sure people would watch it.

Agreed, it's worth a look and is pretty damn ugly. I was watching it on TV and it made me stand up off the couch and start laughing in disbelief....and a little bit of satisfaction. |

And aside from Smith's being the worst timing and most devastating for a player and his team, THIS ONE may be that "worst own goal ever" you were looking for....
