Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?" |

There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E". |

Posted - 05/06/2009 : 07:40:55 Here's my top 5:
1. Nikolai Khabbibulin will likely be out of Chicago 2. Stick with Biron 3. Manny Fernandez will definately be in the market 4. Craig Anderson would be an inexpensive option, he played real well in Florida and with signing him they could also re-sign Nittymaki or sign another borderline starter 5. Same thing with Clemmensen
Honourable Mentions: Dwayne Roloson, Ty Conklin, maybe Gerber.
What Philly really needs to do is draft a good goalie . When was the last time they had a good young goalie in the system? |

Posted - 05/06/2009 : 06:32:22 yea but is it really a big risk.... i mean the guy is only gonna make 1-2 million no one is gonna pay him more if he wants to play so if he doesnt work out all they have to do is cut him.... give him a 1-2 year deal and see how it goes... if it doesnt well they release him and take a 1 million dollars lost over 2 yrs..... a good chance to take for a proven reliable goalie. |

Philly will resign one of them at least. This year's UFA crop of goalies is VERY limited. This is a brilliant UFA group if a team is looking for a back up, but not great for a team looking for a starter. Of the goalies that are up, most are boarderline starters in the league, old, or injury prone.
The only guy I would really go crazy about is Khabibulin, but it would be a 2-3 year contract at the max. He is still a bonified #1 in this league. Possibly a bonified top 10.
Here is the list. (only UFA's, there are some RFA's as well but I don't think anyone worth having an offer sheet fight over)
Krahn, Brent 27 DAL G Munroe, Scott 27 PHI G Sabourin, Dany 28 EDM G Anderson, Craig 28 FLA G Danis, Yann 28 NYI G Tellqvist, Mikael 29 BUF G Raycroft, Andrew 29 COL G Schaefer, Nolan 29 MIN G MacDonald, Joey 29 NYI G Niittymaki, Antero 29 PHI G Labarbera, Jason 29 VAN G Sanford, Curtis 29 VAN G Dubielewicz, Wade 30 CLB G Denis, Marc 31 MTL G Clemmensen, Scott 31 NJD G Biron, Martin 31 PHI G Garon, Mathieu 31 PIT G Boucher, Brian 32 SJS G Johnson, Brent 32 WAS G Conklin, Ty 33 DET G Fernandez, Manny 34 BOS G Weekes, Kevin 34 NJD G Gerber, Martin 34 TOR G Norrena, Fredrik 35 CLB G Khabibulin, Nikolai 36 CHI G Legace, Manny 36 STL G Roloson, Dwayne 39 EDM G Kolzig, Olaf 39 TOR G Joseph, Curtis 42 TOR G Stephan, Tobias 25 DAL G LeNeveu, David 26 ANA G McElhinney, Curtis 26 CGY G MacIntyre, Drew 26 NAS G

Posted - 05/05/2009 : 21:36:51 Yeah no big names on this one really. Maybe Clemmensen had a good enough run when Brodeur was out to get a shot at the no. 1 spot somewhere? |

Posted - 05/05/2009 : 12:30:55 I actually would hope they try to re-sign both Biron and Nittymaki(sp?). They have proven to be a decent tandem on a team that is seriously on the rise. Having the comfort of solidified and familiar goaltenders gives the Flyers the chance to continue to improve each year as they have been. Add some help for Timonen with another mobile and responsible defenceman and these guys can be scary....

Posted - 05/05/2009 : 07:17:41 I think Emery is in alot of ways like Avery. Everybody gave up on him except the Rangers and he helpd them a ton. Whoever gives Emery a shot is making a good decision. Emery played very well in Russia this last season and he knows if he gets another chance he has to do it the way the team that takes him wants. If I were a GM I would have no problem bringing Emery in at 1.5-2 Million for a 1-2 year deal to make him prove himself and see what you get. |

Posted - 05/05/2009 : 04:55:25 I doubt they'd go after Emrey although I heard this rumour to. I live in Ottawa so for two years all I heard about was Emrey so if I was G.M. NO WAY! This guy is nothing but trouble and is only an average goalie. The only good memory I have of him is fighting Biron
