Phil Kessel is being treated for a medical illness. Nothing has been released but his family has asked for their privacy to be respected and the illness does not have anything to do with hockey.
I hope this is nothing too serious. He is a great kid and has a great future ahead of him.

Hey I'm sorry everyone I completely understand and what I said seems completely inappropriate but in all honesty I said it before I had any idea what was going on. I said that when all I knew was that he left for a "Misterious medical reason". I was trying to be funny and as soon as I learned what exactly was going on I couldn't believe it. It completely backfired.
I would just like to make sure that everyone knows that I mean absolutely no disrespect to Phil Kessel and I take back what I said. It is complete coincidence that my post turned out to be somewhat relevant, unbeknownst to me at the time. I am a better person and would never say anything of that nature if I had known what was going on. I would especially never joke about cancer, which is such a serious illness that has claimed quite a few of my relatives. |

i agree with ultimatetitman right there. what bablaboushka wrote was pretty stupid and uncalled for. it wasn't even funny either. i dont know where he was going with that one. |

Well it turns out it is cancer-related, which is pretty unfortunate. It seems like all will be well though, apparently it was caught early and treated early so hopefully he's fine and we look forward to seeing him on the ice again! |
