Do you have a link to the article that had this trade information, and a quote that it was turned down bt JFJ...SP

I do not believe that this was a trade offered to the Leafs, it was all media hype...

I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

I think when he turned down ryan smyth for steen and a 3rd round pick. i mean leafs and islander didnt look like they were gonna make the playoffs, but when the isles got him they made the playoffs. smyths leadership and great talent would have got the leafs to the playoffs for sure. i mean one day steen if hes like his dad will be great but the leafs needed that 8th spot

Ok, I'm having way too much fun here...

I heard Lindros didn't refuse to play for Quebec, it was his parents that said he shouldn't. That's what I heard not positive.

Lindros did all that and more for the Leafs. A healhy Lindros is a fantastic guy to have for a couple mil. And I can guarantee you that the biggest bonus he's got out of his NHL career is humility. He was the original "next one", and now, he's fighting for his career. Why would he not fight for respectability? If I'm wrong, I'll hate him as much as I, and most other Canadians, did when he refused to play for the Nords.

Once I saw a Photoshopped picture with the caption "Pat Quinn's new job" that showed Quinn standing behind the counter at Tim Horton's. He's probably of more use selling maple donuts and iced coffee than coaching the Leafs.

Maurice works great with the call-ups. Quinn wouldn't have done near as good as maurice this year. Toronto kept getting injured and had to call up all the marlies. Maurice coached them before so theres that little chemistry between them.

Quinn left us with a weak team that will need some rebuilding.

Maurice had a good first season...Out of the playoffs yes but that is what Quinn left us...

Maurice will work well with the older players, and the youngsters...

Maurice gives a good interview. His results with the team last year were no better than Quinn's have been in the past. Quinn was the best thing the Leafs have had in the past 20 years. I like Maurice, but he needs to prove his worth quickly. The fickle fans of Hogtown won't wait another 2 years without a cup under the same coach (mind you, they will probably wait another 40, anyways).

Firing Quinn, he may have been one of the greatest coaches ever, and toronto needs everything they can get

Trading for Raycroft was a great move. Raycroft still had his form back then. Did you all predict him to lose it the year after?

Were you talking about another time i said he's overpaid or did you think i was juice?? haha anyway, I think re-signing mcCabe was his worst, but the one that really bummed me out was when Quinn was fired, it's all good now though because Maurice is doing a good job.

JFJ's worst move was accepting the position of GM. He must have known he wasn't up to it.

I hate every move JFJ as ever made and i'd love nothing more then to see him fall flat on his face. But.............I am a Leafs fan so I have to cheer for the less then sub par seasons. I have to say though, the worst move JFJ as ever made was signing Kubina for 5 million!!!

why JFJ???..........WHY
leafsfan_101 Posted - 06/23/2007 : 15:57:54
I think getting Raycroft. Now he is only a backup who we pay an upwards of 1.6 mil. McCabe was a close second though.

Second place is only first place of the losers.

How is getting Toskala his worst move? I'd say that's one of the best moves of his career. But anyways I say re-signing McCabe, waste of money.

SlowShot Posted - 06/23/2007 : 09:45:07
Re-signing mccabe for a so much money. It would have been fine if he took say 4 million but the 6 million he's getting now could be spent on me to play defense. probably wouldnt give away so many turnovers

I love Charles Wang
