Posted - 08/01/2007 : 10:55:39 Jason Blake's only played four seasons and he's 33 or 34.
Anyone know why he started his career later?

2002-03 25 goals 2003-04 22 goals 2005-06 28 goals 2006-07 40 goals...
He is capable of duplicating the 40 goal season...

Posted - 07/04/2007 : 07:27:32 Hey, he hasn't had the time to prove himself. 5 million is abit too much. maybe 3.5 or possibly 4. I would like to see him play a full season before i say he is a terrible defensive liability. I would, however, use him as a bargaining chip in a trade. Along with McCabe(though I want him out nowwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Posted - 07/04/2007 : 07:20:13 If you think Kubina is worth 5 million maybe you can be JFJ's right hand man!!!!! |

Posted - 07/03/2007 : 12:12:45 In my opinion Kubina is still a god player. Give him a full season to prove that. |

Posted - 07/03/2007 : 10:43:41 FINALLY!!!!!!............JFJ makes a good move. I was about to throw in the towel. Now only if he could get rid of McCabe, Kubina, or Antropov its a whole new season for the Leafs |

Posted - 07/03/2007 : 06:01:44 Correct Blake is 33 not 34, he will be 34 in September.
Remember one season at 40 goals does not make him a fourty goal scorer, just look at O'Neill, all I heard is that he is a fourty goal scorer, never did it again, I hope Blake is different...
Gill, and White will be a defense paring, they were most of last season, and played quite well ...

Posted - 07/02/2007 : 20:20:19 One the leafs website they said there happy with there pickup of Blake and are going to try to do a trade soon. Also why would Gill be on the last defending pair he had the best plus minus out of all the leafs d men. Kaberle would also most likely play with Kubina or Mccabe.

Posted - 07/02/2007 : 18:17:09 Blake Sundin Poni Tucker Wellwood Bell Kilger Steen Antropov Battaglia Stajan Pohl
Considering that they don't bring back: O'neill,Peca,Green
Kaberle White Mccabe Colaiacovo Kubina Gill
Toskala Raycroft
Unsigned: Aubin
The leafs need to try and somehow ship Raycroft along with Mccabe or Kubina in a package to try and get another top six forward.

Posted - 07/02/2007 : 17:49:05 Blake seems like a good signing to me.Sure he is 33 but he's a 40 goal scorer and still has some quality years left in him.

Posted - 07/01/2007 : 19:03:37 I do. The contract will give him time to adjust completely and he will hopefully grow and end his career here. We could trade him if this doesn't happen. Notice his performance drop in practices, then trade him fast. It will probably work out. |

Posted - 07/01/2007 : 19:00:19 THey definitely neede someone who scores a lot to go with sundin, but i dont think they should have signed him for five years

Posted - 07/01/2007 : 18:56:56 I think Wellwood would make this line a snipe fest! Poni would also be pretty good player with them. With Poni the puck control would be unbelievable. |

I just wonder who that final guy on Sundin's line will be. I don't think Tucker and Blake will have good chemistry but I can see Steen or Wellwood in that final spot.

Posted - 07/01/2007 : 18:29:13 I LOVE this move. We needed a selfish forward, someone to play with Sundin. Blake has the skill and speed to do this, a great shot and will really help the team. In NYI he never really had anyone special to work with, the same can be said for Sunndin in Toronto. Now with these two on the same side point productions should increase drastically. Great move JFJ.

Posted - 07/01/2007 : 18:21:34 I thought about it and I'm not sure I like the deal. I'm getting a feeling like he isn't the real deal. One season wonder. His age kinda finished the dissapointment. Hopefully I am proven wrong. |

Posted - 07/01/2007 : 17:28:08 I am not sure how I feel about Blake, he is already 34 (35 in September), has one 40 goal season, I just hope he can do that or more again for 5 seasons...

Posted - 07/01/2007 : 16:57:37 Cool. I hope it's five. I can't believe a player like him would sign to a four million dollar deal. This is pretty good. |

Posted - 07/01/2007 : 16:51:57 I doubt he would have signed for 20 million if it's five. I was actually thinking we could have gotten Forsberg. Our managment would probably think about it seeing how Sundin and Forsberg played in the Olympics. |

Posted - 07/01/2007 : 16:47:13 It seems like a smart move. Blake is a healthy power forward with I think a strong four years in him to fit the contract. |
